I'd order a set of covers if you're taking orders.

Yes, I'd also like to order a set of covers please. I've subscribed to this this thread and would have replied sooner but I'm on holiday

Warthog Covers

Deadman, what is the possibility of getting another order going? If it is possible, I would like some info on the covers. (Price, lead time).

If they are not radically expensive, I'd probably be down for a set.

Thanks in advance Deadman.

Hi in order to make a run cost effective in other words not radically expensive. I need to make 25 covers mostly to get the flags and material at a reasonable price. I offer to make a run if members could gather 25 orders

It did not happen, at this time I am in the middle of making Knobs for the left and right hand side consoles so there is just no time. Thanks for your note

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

+me in waiting list if those 25 cover orders are still gathering/open.

P.S.

If site still were alive, imho gathering new orders would be much easier feat. I just by chance stumbled upon one forum where this thread was linked to with mention that some cover orders from time to time still possible. All the rest of links/forums that can be googled up on warthog dust covers point to old closed site or have old last posts saying all closed/nothing available/train missed and so on = imho potentially at least halving if not more potential buyers list.

If reasoning above makes enough sense to you, i suggest to reopen site (which is referred in many of those searchable forums your cover was mentioned in), where user can leave his email on orders and see some current counter of placed ones, as in how much left to go :). You may also consider waiting not for eg. 25, but some 25+5 or other number by your experience for extra insurance, if there were some percentage of guys not paying in time for previous orders, with last 5 redirecting to next order (you can put some EULA to accept, for less hard feelings of those less fortunate with timing :))

HI the Site Warthog covers was closed because no one ordered a cover for 6 months, If no one is ordering it does not make sense to keep on paying for the web site . I just offered to make a run of 25 covers I put the word out on several sites and let the people that wanted covers to spread the word. This is a fairly small community where word travels fast. Well there was not 25 people interested in ordering after three weeks to a month. I moved on to a different project .

The rest is a nice thought, but the way it works now for cover is once in a wile. IF enough guys bug me for a couple of week I finally say OK get me 25 orders from people, I will send them my pay pal account address once i have payment from all 25 the run starts and ships, If there are not the 25 orders i never order and pay for the material and the flags and the parachute cord or what ever else i need.

I have found this works for me and people that really want what i can make. I don't keep stock on the shelf. I do limited runs of custom work for the A-10 C pit builders hopefully at reasonable prices for great quality products.I have neither room or the extra cash to run a stock on hand business, and I don't want to be run ragged buy offering all types of product all the time I watched another guy all most go nuts that way.

So subcribe to the thread and if i make another run you will hear about it .

Making Covers Decals or Knobs is just what I can do to get hard to find bits and pieces to other builders its not my full time job thanks for the Ideas though

I wonder if you can extend time period for gathering buyers from couple of weeks to more (half a year? year?), or if you'll track/re-contact those that had shown their wish for previous not finalized/completed run try? But yeah, subscribed to thread with notification to email for any case.

As for website with costs not justified by demand .. it probably won't work for this case, but i suggest for future cases simply put up/host one unified hostname for selling all the products you brand/made/make/will make. Another one would be to host on some free hosting options and live by with their banner stuff. Maybe even not full order/purchase code, if coding will take too much work/time, but at least product descriptions/pics and some webform with captchas to submit customer mail for contact back (might take more time spend on communication though then direct purchase form), wished product options and shipping address (i'm just purely fantasizing, no clue what's been there on old site, as i hadn't even considering purchase of warthog itself, before it went down). There is option also to use single thread for all your products in some forum that allows selling (with choosing forum by it's potential longitivity and without too high requirements like having paid subscription/100 posts before able to browse/post in selling threads).

Whatever option you will decide to use (or not) but i advise to choose one and stick to it for years (or at least post/update in that one place/host links to alternative new sites/threads in future for future products), so that all those googling for products like yours won't end on closed sites or closed forum threads and after sighing moving on and drop idea of getting/keeping finding product at all.

Well, whatever it will be, i'm glad that i managed to find this thread and still have hope of getting it.:pilotfly:

P.S.

If it's not hard, please update initial post with non removed pics, and with current state of things like "Site closed, but here are from time to time combo orders gatherings for covers, post/PM/subscribe to thread to show interest" for those that find this thread but move on after seeing first post as it's now, without reading last 10-20 pages. I definitely remember visiting this thread aswell from links from elsewhere few months ago, and you probably can guess my reaction on reading "Warthog covers is Closed" :). Only lately i stumbled upon link to more hopeful middle of thread.

cichlidfan: Amazon/ebay? Imho it will be harder to make that way in custom embroidered callsigns, grouping order + there might be extra problems on DM as seller with shipping times after payment. Thus i doubt it makes sense of selling that way with exception for already made no callsign leftover covers from bigger orders.

Take look at the added fees of selling on eBay or amazon and you will understand why as a very small business i don't sell there. All so I try to keep the prices low and shipping low.

Church you obviously not reading and understanding what i am saying here about my stock "Thus i doubt it makes sense of selling that way with exception for already made no callsign leftover covers from bigger orders." There is no left overs so this would not apply.

Thanks for using your first post to straighten me out on how to sell covers I kind of keep it simple the TH Warthog is a copy of the A-10C system this is the home of the simulator for the A-10C it stands to figure that if some on purchases the sim and the HOTAS they may be on the forms at one time and see if any one has posted where to get covers or gee post their serial number and location you can do that here all so. I use only one call sign so I am not that hard to find. Time to go to the second gob see ya:smilewink:
