Sabre-TLA
A number of the BFT missions have been updated. The release notes in the description describe the changes. BFT01 - Ground Handling BFT02 - Takeoff and EFATO BFT03 - Fly Traffic Pattern BFT04 - Approach and Landing If you already have purchased a mission key you do not need a new one for the updates. Your existing mission key will work. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
kharne
Just tried BFT04, and it's the second mission where nothing happens after I shut down the aircraft. I'm told to park next to the tanker, two minutes to shutdown. After everything is off, nothing ever happens. Any ideas?
Sabre-TLA
Just tried BFT04, and it's the second mission where nothing happens after I shut down the aircraft. I'm told to park next to the tanker, two minutes to shutdown. After everything is off, nothing ever happens. Any ideas? Sounds like one of the shutdown triggers is not being detected. The mission is scripted to tell you if you miss an item. If you didn't hear anything then the trigger parameters must be too limited to detect the setting on your system. Here is the list that is checked for OFF: Anti-Skid, Pitot Heat, IFFCC, CICU, Left and Right MFCD, CMSP, EGI, CDU, Left and Right Engines, Battery Inverter, Battery, Radios (VHF AM, VHF FM and UHF), Oxygen Supply Lever and Flaps UP. Please send an email to mapleflagmissions@gmail.com and we can determine which trigger is failing and why. Greygoose
.... My bet would be the oxygen supply lever.......... its not on some other checklists
kharne
.... My bet would be the oxygen supply lever.......... its not on some other checklists  I'll try again, but I'm 99% sure I got that. Shouldn't it still tell me that I failed though, even if I did miss something? I get nothing at all after being told to shut down.
Sabre-TLA
I'll try again, but I'm 99% sure I got that. Shouldn't it still tell me that I failed though, even if I did miss something? I get nothing at all after being told to shut down. Correct. The mission should say if a switch setting is not set right. I suspect that in the shutdown test the trigger parameter range is not wide enough to pick-up the lever setting on your system. Please email us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com and we can do some debugging to find out which switch is causing the issue. Sabre-TLA
Try renaming the .man to .exe and running the file. They are actually installers and will install over the original missions preserving the current campaign progress. SUBS17
Just completed the older version of BFT05 in the campaign and found the mission wouldn't pass onto BFT06 eventhough I passed . I'll try the newer version out, could the installer place the newer mission straight into the campaign? BTW will this work in DCS World? SUBS17
Tested BFT 06 in DCS World it worked upto entering the MOA and then I found the trigger to start trainning script was delayed and my flight was scrubbed because of straying out of the MOA. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
SUBS17
I've got BFT 06 to work in DCS World but found a problem with the mission after doing both check turns the player is off the flight plan which is where the triggers are which can cause drifting outside MOA.(yet heading 040 is still called) Also once passed the last steerpoint inside MOA it gives heading 040 still which can cause drifting outside MOA. I've got upto the defensive spiral and are wondering what parameters are required to gain a qual for this manouver? Is it number of spirals or is it pitch/AoA/G ? Sabre-TLA
Hi Subs, Unfortunately I have not had a chance to test the missions in DCS World but I will start tonight. Not sure why BFT05 success didn't move the campaign to the next mission. I'll investigate that. The installers replace the existing mission but don't touch the campaign file so you won't lose any progress with the updated mission installed. BFT06 was a challenge for most and I think in the next update I'll put improved instructions to help users pass the mission. Here is a spoiler post that explains the triggers for success http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1286141&postcount=219 MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
SUBS17
So overall the spiral must do 3 spins before recovery? BTW is Lazy 8 a vertical or horizontal manouver because by the looks of the checklist it appears to be an horizontal one compared to what someone would do in a pits special. I also see in the BFT 07 mission the cloverleaf is this to be done vertical or horizontal? [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
Sabre-TLA
For the spiral that is correct. 3 rotations around the horizon and dropping altitude with each rotation. Here is a link with some additional info: http://www.flightsimbooks.com/jfs/page126.php For the Lazy 8 I would say both as you have to dive and climb (vertical) and turn (horizontal). Here is a link with additional info: http://www.flightsimbooks.com/jfs2/chapter2-8.php For the Cloverleaf it is also both as you pull up (vertical and then roll out at 90 degrees - horizontal). Here is a link with additional info: http://navyflightmanuals.tpub.com/P-367/P-3670025.htm There are some diagrams in BFT07 that also show the maneuver. Sabre-TLA
I have just completed updating all missions and repackaging them in a new installer. I'll be uploading both DCS World and DCS A-10C installers so you will be able to play the campaign from both versions of the game. Users who have already purchased a mission key for the campaign can re-use that key for the DCS World version. No new key purchase is required. DCS World is still beta so I may need to make further updates to that version once it goes golden. 1 MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
