Where are all the support materials (checklists, charts, etc.) that are supposed to be included with the campaign?

Negative. There's only a .jpg file for a splash screen.

The original campaign download did not have any checklist files included.

 

The checklists were included in the updated mission files.

 

I'm still working on the overall checklist and will release it in another update once it is done.

I'd like to have the materials that come with the individual missions, such as diagrams and charts. Seems illogical that they're not already included in the campaign, since they're the exact same missions. If I download the individual missions, will the campaign install key work for the mission files also?

The DCS World Version of the campaign with the updated missions is now available here: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/203573/

The updated campaign for the original DCS A-10C will be posted soon.

 

For those customers that have already purchased a campaign mission key no new key is required. Your existing campaign mission key will work.

Tested and have found that after I passed BFT 02 I was doing BFT 03 and ran into a problem where the script did not kick in so I exited the flight and found that when I tried to fly the mission again it had rolled back to BFT 02 which is very annoying. I'm not sure why it did that but very uncool redoing a mission you've already passed. Some ideas for added realism check player request taxi and request start engine also you could add a heavy aircraft landing prior to the player going on the runway to take off to emphasize the importance of checking for incoming aircraft prior to going on the runway.:joystick:

That's weird as once you move to a stage you should stay in that stage until it passes.

 

From the GUI manual: "If mission total values are 49 or lower, the player will fall back one stage. If the value is 50, they stay in the same stage."

 

The scoring for the mission is set to 50 for an unqual, 75 for a qual minus and 100 for a qual.

 

Can you explain the script did not kick in part? I don't understand what you mean.

I taxied and took off, climbed to 6000ft and got only Hard deck call on the radio and that was all. From there after a few minutes I exited the game and tried to start again instead DCS had sent me back to the previous mission. I also found that in BFT 02 the 2nd A-10C attempts to land whilst you are on final with one engine without making any radio calls.:doh: And this causes near misses which also should never happen in this case one engine = emergency landing which is funny DCS has yet to model that as an ATC option you could back it up further though by having fire trucks respond (especially if flying on manual reversion :thumbup:)if IRL one engine in that check ride is treated as an emergency landing. It might pay to get that 2nd A-10C to either be removed or fly off somewhere else so the player does not have to worry about it whilst on approach. And AI jets should make radio calls you could add that if the AI has yet to have a voice to add immersion and realism.(would be very good in the BFT 03 mission whilst doing circuits to have a 2nd or 3rd jet doing the circuit as well with RL radio calls. You can even add to the character list in the mission and have 1 or 2 extra characters aside the IP and have their voices) BTW the above is for DCS World.

Thanks for the feedback Subs. I'll see what I can do to make those missions better.

 

I have some ideas why the campaign went back to the previous mission and I'll do some more testing on that today.

I figured out what was wrong with the campaign progress and updated all the missions so it should work properly now.

 

I also fixed the 2nd mission to have the wingman orbit longer until after the player lands (plus added some fire trucks as you suggested).

 

The updated campaign has been uploaded and is awaiting moderator approval.

Flew the latest update of BFT 02 very good Sabre the fire trucks move to the taxi area but would they be waiting for you since its a scheduled test landing and where IRL do they go? It looks good with them driving upto the ramp:thumbup:. Pity the AI does not declare a landing on ATC channel I did see him prior to moving onto the runway but the AI pilot does not make a radio call. (I've posted a bug for DCS World as they should broadcast permission to land/inbound etc)

Someone has already posted a request so you can declare an emergency and get priority in the landing queue.

It would be cool if the ai automatically rolled fire trucks to your location depending on where you ended up (runway, ramp, off the runway). That would be very challenging to script.

The AI would need to know your location and move to it then use foam. I think IRL on a declaration of emergency the fire trucks and most likely an ambulance wait half way down the runway on the taxi way and then follow you after you pass. We might have to ask an actual Air port firemen to see what their procedures are. BFT 02 is good the way you've set it up though with those fire trucks.:thumbup:

Bug in latest version of the BFT campaign mission 1 has no audio from the instructor just text.:doh:

BTW can we have a campaign version number eg v1.02 etc so we know which version we are getting updated with. The other issue is having to start again with each new version of the campaign....death by Ground handling 101 lol.

Yes we have updated the package to version 1.1 to match the new install path in DCS World V1.2.0. Once the moderator approves the update the link should work.

 

Unfortunately due to incompatibilities the DCS A-10C versions will not work correctly in DCS World.

 

The documentation install is correct as that path did not change from the beta in DCS World.
