Greb's Mission Revisions!

*04/23/2011 - Sorry for being missing in action the last month. Had to get back to work and things have been busy. Just life in general.

I started updating my older missions. The ones I like for the most part. I have some new stuff just about ready. I will try and get a few up this weekend.

Here are some updated stuff from the previous betas. Hope to have some more up here shortly. If you have problems or find bugs, let me know so I can fix them. If mission is updated, update will be by letter.

Hawg hunt mission SP is a great addition to my collection. Any idea of what freqs are used in the flight. In SP I expect radios to work.

I can post them for ya Burner! YOU are so right they need to be listed along with the Airfield Freq's in the Mission Briefs! They are in the mission ME dialog but you will have to go in and get them if you need them right off if not I will update it tonight! ......Glad you liked it!

I am still getting familiar with the ME and have plenty of ideas. I love creating these darn things and if anyone has any request toss them out there. I will be happy to give it a go.

I love the idea of having to destroy aircraft at an enemy base or rendering runway/taxiways unusable... how's that for an idea?

I'll add to my to do list Cezar!

Something like getting to enemy airfield just as flights taking off or do you want to catch them with their pants down.

....I will think on it and see if I can surprise ya!

Hey Fellas what I am really needing help with right now is MP stuff. It would be very helpful if I could get a bunch of you to run that MP Hawg Hunt and give me some performance feedback. I am trying to establish an MP Template sort of speak to work off of for making MP Missions and I need to know whats a go or no go to start with.

Many thanks in advance!

The briefing and information pre-flight is just as critical as the mission in my book. Adds to the realism and thoroughness and get's me ready to take it seriously. Missing briefs and unlikely scenarios are just practice to me, and not a game face type mission.

Got ya mtucker. I am gonna add them to all my missions. Some will use it and some will won't. I do like how it adds to the realism like you mentioned.

Yeah, detailed briefing gives you a MISSION and not a free flight objective. Usually such a mission entails tactics and a cohesive plan to accomplish said objective, of which I am a part. If I don't follow the brief and complete my tasks as assigned WITHIN the group, it may result in a mission failure. It is easy to drop a bomb and get home, but if you start getting into the realm of real missions, integration with other critical assets working in concert is the trick to real satisfaction.

Just in my own humble opinion, and the way I approach it. I am loving your missions however, and it is cool to see your knowledge grow. I am sure and very much looking forward to the next evolution!

Greb, here is a link to the Mission Data Card that I made. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61044&highlight=Mission+Data+Card

It might give you an idea of some of the different types of information that can be put in a briefing. Pictures in the briefing also help add to the immersion.

Your creation of a "living airbase" is the best immersion factor I have seen in a MP mission to date...

I am cleaning up CAS Convoy as we speak!

I had a total brain storm this evening ...gonna try and see if I can get it to work. It will add to the immersion factor 10 FOLD!!! .....if I can get it to work!

Greb,

As a noob pilot who is just now learning JTAC, thanks very much for the work you put in. I really appreciate it.

Your very welcome Darren!

I needed to work on my JTAC procedure badly, its why I created them. I thought ....I bet there is a lot more guys out there like me. Normally JTAC would just call the whole group, but hell you only get one 9 line that way. An hour of of flight time for one 9 line.....well it could takes you months to get it down at that rate!

This might be something I'm doing wrong since I'm quite new at this JTAC thing. When i run the "JTAC Practice 02 REV 2" mission the JTAC coordinates I'm given is completely off, I get KM700549 for example and that is 10's of miles away form the target area). I got strange coordinates to all 4 targets, all around the same spot very far away.

The first mission I ran, "JTAC Practice 01 REV 2", worked flawlessly though, nice work, really good to get the flow down on JTAC! :-)

Yeah I think its the Beta Version. I just ran that new Cas Convoy again. Finally got to run it as a player instead of just testing. Anyways my targeting did the same thing. WAY the heck off, yet for the hours I ran it testing it worked perfect....go figure. Only thing I can suggest is try it again. I will run that Practice 02 again tonight and see how it does for me. Like I said I think some it is still a WIP on ED's part!

Try that SP Hawg Hunt. The Airfield activity in that mission is worth it alone!

Glad you liked it.....gonna do another one tonight. I just started really getting into the Mission Editor about a week ago....so still getting it down!

Well trying to take immersion to another level! I reworked CAS Convoy again. I replaced all the JTAC pop up messages with actual audio from ground units. So a trigger has you calling out to convoy, convoy calls back with truck engine added. Then when attack starts Convoy calls out for dust off you hear gun fire and explosions over the radio. Med vac calls out and when the JTAC's call out you get gun fire and explosions again. I need to run it one more time to make sure, but it's off the charts fellas.

I took audio samples from the sim and spliced them together and it just sounds killer. It really feels like there is combat going on down below. I also added in the key mics and what not. Should post it in like 20 minutes just got to make sure my triggers are fined tuned!

If you haven't been back since then you'll see a lot of changes.

Keep up the good work.

Loved the convoy CAS mission. It was tough to find those guys even with the tasking. I will admit I used the outside camera few times! :D
