It is really impressive. Hoping we get to see it in DCS style one day too.

P.S: if you've noticed that the wingtip ECM/R-73's are out of place in these screenshots, thats because the screenshot was taken of someone still using the stock Su-33 model...that causes the mis-alignments with the model i was using (much like when someone uses stock F-15C model and you're using the Valery/Gys F-15C model, the missiles are all mis-aligned)

Hey Mustang, I asked for a FC version because you scenery looks waaay different than what I'm having...for instance, in your last shot Su-33 departs from Krymsk - 04 and you seem to have more trees in the background than me with scenery = high...I am looking for some "666th Birdy like" environment mods & addons for FC2 that add more trees and objects to the map and I really like what I see in your shots so can you bless me?

I know you've made a lot of mods and addons yourself but LOFiles (where I usually DL) hasn't got any or I simply couldn't find 'em...

Sorry for OT!

I use nothing special, all i do is edit the graphics.cfg for better tree visibility, just like this:

current = "Medium";

Low

{

near_clip = 0.2;

middle_clip = 5;

far_clip = 140000;

structures = {60, 6000};

trees = {1000, 15000};

dynamic = {300, 20000};

objects = {3000, 80000};

mirage = {3000, 20000};

surface = {10000, 50000};

lights = {50, 10000};

lodMult = 1;

lodAdd = 100;

}

Medium

{

near_clip = 0.2;

middle_clip = 5;

far_clip = 140000;

structures = {60, 6000};

trees = {1000, 15000};

dynamic = {300, 20000};

objects = {3000, 80000};

mirage = {3000, 20000};

surface = {14000, 80000};

lights = {100, 30000};

lodMult = 1.5;

lodAdd = 0;

}

High

{

near_clip = 0.2;

middle_clip = 5;

far_clip = 140000;

structures = {60, 6000};

trees = {1000, 15000};

dynamic = {300, 20000};

objects = {5000, 80000};

mirage = {3000, 20000};

surface = {20000, 80000};

lights = {200, 80000};

lodMult = 1.5;

lodAdd = 0;

}

Yes bro!

I'll give it a try...

Once again guys, Your Su-33 model really blends in properly with FC2 and 2011 gaming standards!!!

Keep it up!

Hey, few requests (if possible) on a Su-33 pilot model:

1) Orange flightsuit mandatory with Russian naval aviation units, of course this would kinda be weird upon ejection with Olive drab chutist :-(

2) Helmet visor animation connected to canopy close / open argument. (As in DCS:A-10)

Possible?

He means the material property not the texture type. And combatace the material property doesn't matter...it should work.

if you don't see the texture it may be because you made a .jpeg texture. it only works with tga and bmp files.if you don't choose in max what type of material to be, it will be a standard one from default, but it has to be written in the .skins file that's a standard one

Yea you can use a Multi/Sub object for material slots to add more. ED says it doesn't work but I've been using Multi/Sub materials for years with LOM and had no problems at all.

So you add this using material ID's on the objects then?

Yeah in the material editor I just hit the standard button, choose Multi/Sub-Object, and then I have a bunch of slots under that 1 material that I can use for more textures, up to 1000 per Multi/Sub material. :)

of what i've tried before, you can make a separate max scene with a part of your model and map it there add materials and everything you want, and then import it in the proper scene. this way you have unlimited number of materials.

for example, i made my landing gear in a separate max scene from the jet. after i animated it and add materials i imported the landing gear scene in the f-16 original scene. this way i kept my 24 material spots from the f-16 scene free for the rest of model

Yeah, but rather then merging max files, a button press in the material editor seems easier to me... :P

:smilewink:The ejection of pilot is so wrong. AFAIK ejection is upwards and not forward. Also, the man his so conscious about his dressing, changes clothes before ejecting..lol..

During so much making and testing of this plane I found that it is very weak compared to Su-27 and a single hit from missile will break most of it controls, I mean even if its not a direct hit.

I Noticed this weakness too. be doing alot of flying in the su-33 and whenever i get damaged the hydrolics always seem to go, and therefore you cant extend the landing gear, so its mission over!! :s
