ALL Missions now also have at least 1 aircraft set up as Player so you should be able to launch these missions from the Single Player client of A-10 as well. Enjoy!

Very nice - thanks muchly for all your work on this:thumbup:

The next mod will be relatively minor. Will probably do some changes to the iron bomb mission so that two out of the 4 racks of Mk-82 AIR will be set up to drop in high drag profile (chutes deployed) and 2 racks as low drag (no chutes). The default in DCS A-10C is high drag.

It's a relatively minor change, but it's not covered in the manual and is a pain in the butt to do if you've never done it before. I will leave the iron bombs alone in the Mix Missions so that if you want to drop them in low drag profile (no chute) you will have to program it yourself.

Can you remind me, what Nose/Tail setting (or any other setting) is used to make the Mk-82 AIR deploy the ballute (high drag)? Thanks.

It's not one simple setting. You have to first go in to the Inventory page, changing things there, get back out, go to the weapon in DSMS and then go in to the Profile page and make a new profile with the correct settings there. That's the short explanation. Now you know why I say it's a pain in the rear.

There is a video on You Tube on how to do this but the author doesn't have any verbal dialog to explain what he's doing and he does it really quick so you have to watch closely. Consequently, unless someone else has done so already, I will probably make a step by step set of instructions soon on how to do so. Keep a watch for it. :)

Well I think it's covered in the unguided bombing tutorial track, too. Are you sure you have to change inventory settings? I'm pretty certain that it's just the N/T setting in the DSMS Profile page, unless you want to adjust secondary parameters like time of flight, etc.

Posted

If the bombs are already set to Fixed Lo within the inventory page prior to mission start (you will see this underneath the weapon on the DSMS) then yes you just have to switch to Nose fuse in the profile. If it is not (in which case it will read Fixed Hi) then when you try to switch to Nose fuse you will see Invalid Fuse on the HUD and you will not have a bomb fall line.

Thanks Topgun505, That does make sense, had a play around with the missions this morning before going to work, Must say they are great fun. Think my flight will enjoy working through them. Would you mind if I changed the aircraft to ramp start for use with my flight only. I wouldnt be putting it up on a public server. Since its your work, wouldnt be right to attempt to change it without your permission.

EDIT: Takeoff and landing missions have been moved to Batumi in order to permit practice for TACAN and ILS (the other airport had no such aids). Current version is now 1-5 and has been loaded to the first post.

pls, can anybody point me into the right direction: after changing payload for a training mission in mission editor the changes are not visible in dsms page during flight. i saved into a different mission file and selected the changed one for the flight. goggled a lot but could not find a hint how to solve. many thanks in advance. desmo

Hi thanks for these. I am running some training for some guys in our community. Welcome addition to my teaching aids.

desmoflex you need to reload your DSMS on your DTS page. This will give you the correct loadout in your DSMS page.

Hi Cibit,

thx for your information. will give it a try later this weekend. but my asumption would have been that with saving a mission with different loadout to a different filename would lead to a changed DSMS information when i start (!) this mission. i do not want to re-arm. i do have the problems right at the beginning of that (changed) mission.

thx desmo

Ok sorry misunderstood. Then might I suggest that the mission your editing is in fact uneditable(locked)

Best result is if you make a mission for yourself in ME and add the loadout you want then save. The other option is start the mission and before you go through engine starts you get a new loadout via ground crew/radio combo and then start your hog as normal. This means you dont have to reload DSMS.

Minor corrections and airfield navigation data added to each mission. Added another maverick mission with the goal of picking off multiple specific targets on a single pass. This one has moderate air defenses.

Added 2 more Takeoff and Landing missions. Both at night, one with static weather and the other with dynamic.

Added a moving target mission. The goal is simply to get practice using various weapons against targets moving at high speed.

Current version is now 1-6

Could a mod go ahead and move this? This should probably be in the Mission thread.

Great work, especially since longer loading times are a mission makers curse:cry:

Fantastic Training Video

You have obviously invested a great deal of time and effort into making these videos. You and your group are to be commended for your significant contribution to the DCS community.

Thank you for making this simulator an extraordinary experience for all who share the passion.
