^^ That Indian head. Isn't there a bit of history there going back to US pilots flying for the Frenchies in WW1? Is that where the insignia comes from?

affirmative , Suda airbase , where the Mirage now operate from . taken from 05 to 12 may . during that period around 15 military vehicles (including 13 battle tanks) were destroyed (Adjabya) , around 6 artillery pieces (around Misratah and Yafran) , 2 command centers (around Syrte and Tripoli) and around 30 (ammunitions and vehicles) storage buildings (around Tripoli, Zintan, Syrte and Misratah) . more , enjoy :

2 hours ago the RAF Tornado GR4 fleet hit the 2000 flying hours mark for Op Ellamy. Not bad for 7 weeks.

Full out war ?

It seems like the war against libya will go into the next stage.

12 helicopters were despatched to Libya on the French carrier Tonnerre on 17 May. Will they send real ground troops now?

ground troops i don't think so , cause ground troops means a high risk of being killed for the allied . Gaddhafi is cut from everything , his last shield are the 1000 armored vehicles of his army . helos like apache or tiger are cheaper too operate than planes and can down lot of vehicles in one sortie . only risk is igla/stingers . Gaddhafi now being charged of crimes against humanity it's a good opportunity for the allies to try the helos card , a bit risk but it can pay

Gaddhafi naval forces are completly annihilated . french participated too , destroying among others a koni class frigate (Al Girdabiyah) . another koni class frigate and few patrol corvettes are still working but now belong to rebels forces , as their crew defected since the beginning of the conflict .

the US will lend 2 C2 greyhounds (with their crews) to the french too . to make rotations between Hyères AB and the CDG

With all the hardware and what they're doing with it, you'd think France was an emerging super power.

i don't think so . we're are trying to help people when we can , that's all . some say it's for democracy others it's for oil but well that's not the subject here . but as most of countries we have a pretty huge debt . the army is very sophisticated but smaller than before because of the cuts

At 11.15 you can see a SA-8 Gecko and it's missilie storage/loading vehicle being destroyed near a football pitch.

The helos mostly operated near the town of Brega.

Here is a video in german (Swiss TV) it shows the Berber people fighting on the mountain pass near the city of Nalut (between of Wazin and Zintan which are declared free of pro-Ghadaffi forces in the previous NATOchannel video)
