CONFIRMED: Next aircraft will be a fixed wing US FIGHTER!

My guesses are F-16, F-15C or F/A-18E. I highly doubt it would be a two-seater.

The F-15E with a hot-swap function between seats wouldn't matter, seeing as how you can basically control everything from the back cockpit if you had to. You even get a HUD repeater on the MPDs so you can see out :]

I'm not convinced that the SH is in need of a DTS ...

Aye, they have a good philosophy going concerning single-seaters, they wouldn't violate it.

It would have to be one of those three.... but even the Superhornet is dubious. Isn't one of the pre-requisites that they have extensive access to aircraft systems and data?

Not that I would be adverse to a nice simulation of pitching-deck night traps, mind you. :)

The chance of getting an accurately modeled electronic attack bird is pretty close to zero.

That aside, two seats, pitching decks, a2a and a2g radars are not barriers for producing a sim. They're challenges, but not barriers.

As your're wishing the F-15E: Why not hoping for the EA-18G?

I would love to fly a 2 seat fighter/bomber aircraft like F-15E, but if everything is classified I can see the problem. But imagine you as the radar operater in the backseat and the AI is flying the plane.

Maybe I'm weird... But the F-15C would bore me to tears, and on the face of it, it seems to be the most likely candidate unfortunately. F-15E however, that's a different story. Would be very happy with the F-16 or 18 though.

Even better, your buddy in the front over multiplayer (PS: The guy in the back is the WSO, not an RO, though it might be more accurate to call him a 'PO or Pod Operator' :)).

Yep, "not a pound for air to ground" means a whole helluva lot of time just circling waiting for bandits. :megalol:

Another "I want this aircraft because I had dreamed it last night" thread. Thats exactly what this forum needs.

And to contribute: Its F-16C (I saw it in my dreams last night :P)

Given how KA-50 and A-10 are ground-attack and most of the game assets involve air-to-ground warfare, this is why I think the C-model is unlikely. The F/A-18 and F-16 can both serve in ground-attack roles, albeit they aren't nearly as dedicated to the task...

We need a multi role jet so that implies the superhornet, plus ED was asking for CV Vinson hirez pics last year, so...

F-15 is out of the question for now unless something went 180 degrees off at ED recently.

It will be either the F-16 or 18, but the hornet had less available documentation till recently, Im basing myself on clues given over the years by staff of ED.

I would be thrilled if its going to be a Superbug or an F-16 module.

But first I really, really want my hardcopy Hog flight manual!! ;)

when I spoke about the Eagle I was assuming the C version following CHUCKLES quote.

The F-15E is a recent rumour started by a Spanish site in the eve of their "dia de los inocentes" a sort of 1st of April. Good piece of reverse disinformation if that confirmed to be true. :D

Do you have to ask? :D

I agree. Though i bet you would be quite happy to get a 15E? :)

It seems the way to DCS: Fighter is very loooooong. Maybe end of 2012...

Flying the SuperBug in FSX is nice for a technical point of view, but I rather have a DCS combat environment to play with it.

And please, do not meantion the upcoming weapons expansions for FSX. That is NOT what I mean. :D

But sure, an F-15E module would kick butt as well, but I would like some proper carrier ops. Hence my Superbug vote.
