There are instructions available for iControl DCS here http://www.bit-shift.com/home/icontrol-dcs/help

There is nothing to set up on the iPad. As long as it's connected to the same network as the PC, install the software and go!

You need to have Bonjour installed on the PC (If you have iTunes installed, you probably already have it. If not, you need to get it via the links on the help page.)

LOL I tried all this but I have no go it is still searching or not connected.

Bonjour doesn't see anything.

Isn't there a instruction vid to how to set up iControle DCS?

Because I'm getting the feeling that I have bought this app for nothing.

Please HELP over here!!!

It's supported on any generation iPad. The live displays will run quite a bit faster on the iPad 2 or later just because it's got more horsepower to spare but a first gen iPad will still get the job done!

mulisha, I use an ipad mini for my cdu and it works a treat and like you I have a pit which the ipad mini fits right in place size wise. I bought my ipad only for this and because of the size as I felt the normal size ipad was too large for my pit

Hi Boarder, I've got a small issue maybe you can help. When I'm not using my iPad for the CDU (and it's not plugged in), when I try to start up the cdu in-game I still get the cdu data info on the top left of my screen. How can I get this off? I've tried removing my second monitor from Nvidia control centre, adjusting to the normal resolution in-game but I can't get rid of it. What can I do? Ta

The easiest way would be to go back into the A-10 VC Server display configuration and disable it from there when you don't want to use it. Otherwise you'll have to do some hand editing of lua files.

It's likely that the Huey will be next on the list after I finish the project I'm working on now.

What's the android app? Always good to see what else is out there :)

Awesome App

I had read through all of this, and decided that even though I have the Cougar MFDs I would try this one out. TrackIR is great but moving heads-down and trying to hold still (without using an IR pause button) to be able to click a button was a pain.

Long story short, I downloaded the server and then setup the values, positioned the displays to my second monitor which I was not extending to originally anyway. I fired up the app, and it connected within a couple of seconds. I have an 802.11 n router. The sim automatically adjusted my resolution to now "use" the second monitor although the actual sim only displays on the main one. The switches and dials work pretty well, but my fat fingers make going back twice to get them sometimes needed. I will explore the CDU this weekend.

One thing I didn't notice was any audio "click" for the switches. Having HOTAS Warthog, those switches are really easy to hear. Is there any audio on the app? I didn't seem to notice any fps hits on my first couple of flights. I do agree however that the two finger swipe is a bit of a "bother". Now I don't know whether to continue with the MFDs, or just use the app??

Great job and thanks. Oh and for $30, it is really worth it as far as I am concerned.

There's no audio in the app, however you should be able to audibly hear the switches toggling in-sim (I think?? My video card is trashed right now and I can't check. Been a while since I played, too!)

I hear you about swiping to navigate. It's something I'll be looking at in a future update. It was a good idea in theory, bad idea in practice, and it's not something that's easy to just add a menu to with the way the application is structured at the moment.

Anyway, glad you're liking it overall! Always appreciate App Store reviews from anyone who wants to give them ;)

Just flew with last version in multiplayer, and had strange behaviour of MFCDs, suddenly they freeze, for 5-10 seconds, then work ok, then in a while freeze again. I didn't had such errors before, with previous server(s).

P.S. Same in single player, just random freezes in iControl.

Icontrol for Black Shark 2

I just bought BS2 and I tried IControl with it and the 2 screens very nicely work on both the IPad and on my second screen. Of course the buttons do not work, but the screens show up very nicely.

Any chance of doing some controls for the BS2?

Second iPad

I got the second iPad, and it worked great. Now I am pretty sure I won't be using the Cougar MFDs.

I haven't changed the recommended settings, and the MFD displays are a bit fuzzy. I was wondering what the "hit" would be by using the higher display resolution. Thanks.

That definitely shouldn't be happening. The MP fix with the 1.0.0.4 version of the server was just a one line LUA fix that shouldn't affect any of the networking stuff.

More data needs more bandwidth, needs more processing power to decode/display. If you have the latest iPad, a high end multi-core CPU, and a very strong 802.11n wifi network, it might work just fine for you.

The default settings are just a decent starting point that trades off between performance, bandwidth, and visual fidelity to give most people a (hopefully) pretty good experience.

Using a 95 compression quality (you can set it under the other menu option in display config) with 600x600 MFCDs is going to look pretty darn good, but it's also going to use a ton of bandwidth and a not insignificant amount of CPU on both the iPad and PC.

first download install tightVNC http://www.tightvnc.com/download.php

Then download install this demoForge driver http://www.demoforge.com/dfmirage.htm

Right click on desktop and go to Screen resolution then press detect. Hopefully it should detect another monitor that you can force on using vga. You can then extend your desktop onto the new monitor.

I haven't fully tested this method but I got it working on both my main desktop computer and laptop (both using an AMD graphics card).

I was then able to set a-10c and iControl to use the extra space with a bit of trial and error.

Hi All,

I just can't get this virtual display to work for my Nvidia GTX 680 card. I had no problem getting the virtual display working with my ATI card before I upgraded my PC.

I have installed tightVNC and the demoForge driver wich seem to be working, but when I click the "Detect" button under the screen resolution, nothing at all happens. Just my main monitor is identified with no changes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've spent most of the morning trying to find a solution.

I've never used it but I'm 99% positive that it won't work with Windows 8+ Microsoft made some massive changes and restrictions to how virtual displays work in Windows 8. So if you're running 8 or 8.1 it won't work.

Otherwise disregard and "I have no idea" :)
