DCS A-10C - more dense grass

I'm the same as Kuky, i have tried it on my system with both Every Frame on and Every Frame off, and everytime i get better FPS with the ON settings.

 

Looking at my hardware and Kuky's hardware, we're both on ATI video configurations, that might have something to do with it (i'm guessing both Miro and Vekkinho are on nVidia cards)

Interesting! As I'm also using an ATI card I think I'll give that I try.

I don't use it because I get better frame rate, I use it because it looks better in TGP and mirrors, when I am using them as image is smoother because it refreshes at same frequency as the game engine. Without mirrors frame rate hit with it on every frame is not that big at all... just my preferrence

FYI - tried this mod with 1.1.0.9 and it killed my radio comms. Had to uninstall.

This mod works great but something weird happens when i install it. The map on the tad screen is gone and my tvv goes crazy and not accurate and will not track waypoints.. so not sure if its the new patch or what but i had to uninstall this.. to bad cause it looked really cool.

TVV doesn't track waypoints. Do you mean TGP?

 

Also, are you 100% the map is gone? There is an area of the map where there is no 5-mile map, causing TAD to be black when flying there with TAD set to 5-mile display. This is the area to the east of the map - Tblisi and east.

No..... i mean TVV and yes i checked all the simple stuff like being zoomed in all the way on the tad. Once this mod is taken out everything goes back to normal.

 

obviously something wrong with compatibility between the mod and 0.9

i download same "more Grass" from Lockonfiles.com, was by/from Tom Weiss(?) long time ago. And now in 1.1.0.9 Patch got this Errors:

 

- ATC Radio Comm. gone; you got error line of massage on Screen during the flight.

 

- Map is gone too.

 

I sent PM to TOM Weiss few days ago, no reply yet.

 

I assumed it to this mod, becoz both Error happened directly after Installation of it, and got everythings working again after "removed" the mod. That why i came to this conclusion.

 

So, just want to forward this infos.

I just installed DCS A-10C again (after few weeks of not having it on my PC) and I have no issues with this mod on my end. MAP on TAD is there and radio comms work also, maybe you should try not using file from 1.1.0.8 but edit file from 1.1.0.9 instead (this is what I did)

I am experiencing the same issues as TulsA-10 and MOTO with this Mod.

My 1.1.0.9 is a fresh installation, by the way.

 

Other Mods currently running here are (List taken from ModMan 7.3):

- Slmodbeta3_for_servman301

- ServMan 3.0.1 for DCS 1.1.0.8

- (And a few Mission installed trough ModMan).

 

Let me just say that this is a great Mod Kuky :thumbup:

But guess I´ll have to wait, until it gets fixed before using it, unfortunately :(

make sure you are not just copy/paste the files from 1.1.0.8 into 1.1.0.9 installation. Instead use same procedure to modify original files from 1.1.0.9

All i did was copy and paste your mod files and i'm not sure by looking at the code what copy into the 0.9 files. Can you post your 0.9 files from your install.

Guys, here's a bit better way to get the grass/bushes density higher with not so much performance hit

 

Open/Edit with Notepad++ (same file for BS2 and A-10C) file:

 

.../Bazar/Terrain/terrain.cfg.lua

 

and just comment out the second bit like this:
