I just recently bought LOMAC, and while I'm enjoying it I find the framerates a little on the slow side for my machine. I really want to get Flaming Cliffs (for the Su25T's AFM) but I want to make sure that these extra calculations won't slow my machine down even more.

My impression is that FC actually *increased* framerates on my system, might be subjective though.

You should consider a hardware upgrade, a Geforce 6600 GT is a good mid-range card.

I don't agree with Juice, i expire the opposite although the drop in FPS is minor if you compare the same missions with the same settings in both games.

What i realy do see here is a lot more stutter (standard game, no LoMan mods installed etc...) then in the 1.02 version, certainly on explosions, flaredropping (even when they are not vissible to you), AWACS and other tower messages etc...

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL.

Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!

Hmm, interesting.

In your opinion, is LOMAC more processor intensive or more GPU intensive? In other words, would it be worth me upgrading my graphics card?

I'd go for a faster processor first. Your processor will bottelneck a faster graphics card. IMO its not worth going froma 5900 to a 6600. You will get better frame rates but not enough to justify the cost. Just IMO.

LOMAC is everything intensive. Your 1GB RAM is fine. If had your system I'd get a faster CPU.

i among other have gotten an performance increase with 1.1...and if ur running no loman mods i would recommend u getting some that increase performance such as flare fix ,haze update and water mods (since the water is rendered under the terrain as well...

Where would I get these fixes? They aren't in the latest patch?

You can use LoMan (also availabale there) to incorporate the mods into the game. It isn't realy necessary to use LoMan but with LoMan you are able to drop the mods in and out of the game at will.

Example: You can have 3 various water texture mods and try them one by one by in- and uninstalling them via LoMan and see then which suites you most.

PS: I would go for a faster CPU (instead of a graphics card) if you are looking for an update.

if you can do it doug, you mite want to look at getting yourself a better cpu, the amd xp's have gone down in price relitavly cheap now. you should be able to run your game fairly well on low-medium the more objects you have in your missions may slow you down thats where i think a new cpu mite help you out.

you may experience a few low frams on the airports, but i think if u get up in the air you should be fine.

Well, on my lowly spec'd laptop, I lost about 5FPS ... which took it from playable (15-20FPS) to boarderline (10-15FPS) ... having said that it is well worth it! G-modelling, different terrain seasons, better damage modelling and of course the AFM!
