i. Nose floodlight: I know how the throttle pinky switch is supposed to function -- at least I thought I did -- but unless I start on the runway, I can never get the nose gear floodlight working. In the Exterior Lights panel, "Nose Illumination" does not seem to do anything. I have no problem getting all the other int/ext lights working (except anti-collision...) What am I missing here?

ii. Automated BRA calls: Can someone confirm that it's possible to hook the Bullseye icon in the TAD and get an accurate readout of bearing and range so that a BRA callout for an object on the ground can be marked?

iii. Is it possible to label Mark points in the CDU, using input from the UFC, as you can for steerpoints?

As always, thanks!

On 1 - Nose Lights switch is right of the Anti-Skid switch, far top left of the front panel (below and to the left of the left MFCD).

Still haven't figured out how to get those cool lighting strips to light. Somebody told me online last night about the toggle for nosewheel light beside the antiskid. Thanks for that, somebody.:)

Hi Bahger!

I believe the BRA calls, (Bearing, Range, Altitude) are provided by AWACS just for your reference to your current position, not the bullseye.

Think of it as a personal heads up for you from the AWACS.

If the call was for the bullseye it would be proceeded by the "Bull's 120 for 35" instead of "BRA 120 for 35 angels 15 flanking"

What kinda irks me is I only ever hear AWACS calling out BRA. BRA is useful to only one aircraft. Is there any way to get AWACS to reference bullseye? Maybe the problem is I only ever call bogey dope? Isn't there a request picture option? If so, when you request picture, does he reference bullseye?

Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.

There's a picture option. BRA/bulls has to do with distance, I think. 100 nm or less is BRA, otherwise bulls. Or something to that effect.

As for the lights-

-the florescent strip lights are the dial on the lighting panel... useless in daytime.

-the nose illumination lights kind of point out at a 45 degree angle from the front of the plane.

-the steering light is the T handle toggle next to the anti-skid toggle.

-as far as the pinky switch, i dont have one so i mapped lights on to "L" and lights off to "RSHIFT+L".

As far as the mark points I dont think you can rename them but Im not sure.

I'm not sure if you can change their names, I've never tried. You can definitely copy them into new (named) waypoints though, which will achieve pretty much the same thing.

Edit: yep they can be named. They'll still be the same letter, but you can give them more meaningful names than "MRK A" if you like. Note that the default names have two spaces between MRK and the letter.

Can they be named?

Yes, I believe so, from the WP / STEERPOINT Sub-Page 1 (see p 226 of the manual - can't check in sim right now...)

Not the Mark points per se can be named, however, you can create a Flight Plan from the stored markpoints, and then name them as desired. A lot of work, but possible.

This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly:
