Ice Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 I made a mission that's very challenging. Without tampering with the settings, see how long you can go for without losing a plane. Good luck! ==NEW VERSION== mission on this thread 1
355th_Paulie Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 The mission name sounds quite appealing to me on this early saturday morning :-)) Downloaded it, and going to see if I survive!! Thanks! :D
Rastus Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Thanks Ice, thats a great mission for those who enjoy the roll & tumble of good gunzo sex. And it's even more fun with two or more. (funny about that) Cheers
Ice Posted July 17, 2005 Author Posted July 17, 2005 Its not surprising to me that the LO-MAC community is dying. I spend a whole weekend making a unique mission. Over 2 hundred people look at the post but next to no one can be bothered checking it out or better still actually having a fly of it and posting some feedback. It makes me wonder why I and many others even bother.
Guest tommyboy46 Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Hey Ice, I have been playing your mission for the last day and having a blast! I have been trying to reply to this thread several times now to give you feedback and for some reason I could sign-on to the site, but it would NOT let me sign-on to the forums. So when I saw your comment about no one responding I got serious and just setup a new sign-on so I could let you know! I want you to know that I am really enjoying your mission! I got shot down on the second bogey the first time out. Then I started using better tactics. After several tries I shot down 7 before they got me. I learned I needed to land, refuel, rearm the gun and get back in the action quickly before the next guy was on me. Several times I was "slow" to get the next guy and because of that I would have another on me in no time. I got sloppy once and ran into one of the F-5s, duh, smoking hole in the ground! I just got done playing for an hour and a half and what a rush! I always have enjoyed a good gunzo fight and this one does it. Some of those targets put a really good fight. Thanks for taking the time and effort. I know it is not easy because I have spent a bunch of time trying the editor myself. I have been playing Lomac since the day it was released, up through FC. I have flown flight sims for 20+ years (oh, the money in hardware upgrades!) and Lomac finally fits with what I always wanted. Thanks again and I hope others let you know that your efforts are appreciated. Rock on! -TommyBoy45
pappavis Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 ... or better still actually having a fly of it and posting some feedback. It makes me wonder why I and many others even bother. Ice, some people probably do try the mission but do anyways not write feedback. Your efforts are appreciated. I try to make some missions myself. Due to the peculatrities of the mission editor (no cop-[aste function!!!) It takes quite a lot of time to create something. Besides, a nice mission needs a good storyboard too :) Lets get more of your creative abilities with missions :) :) met vriendelijke groet, Михель "умный, спортсмен, комсомолетс" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] [TABLE]SPECS: i9-9900K 32gigs RAM, Geforce 2070RTX, Creative XFi Fata1ity, TIR5, Valve Index & HP Reverb, HOTAS Warthog, Logitech G933 Headset, 10Tb storage.[/TABLE]

355th_Paulie Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 next to no one can be bothered checking it out. Me? next to no one?? Well. thank you.... :D

Ice Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Paulie, your reply IS apreciated :) You did not give me any feedback though. Any comments? Your thoughts would ALSO be appreciated
355th_Paulie Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 O.k., first attempt in the Eagle....... 4 mins....... :icon_roll with externals on...... :icon_pray Second round went considerably better, a 100% increase, yes, 8 mins!!! Damn, guns only is hard, but fun I must admit! What did you do? Clone yourself into that Mirage? :D
169th_Dredd Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 For those that haven't tried this out yet, get it NOW. I got nailed bad for the first few tries, but after a few more rounds, my confidence got better and so have my skills I think. Next stop is to put those skills Ive been practicing aginst real opponents. :) Its the perfect track/mission for guns only training, I highly recommend it. And its also highly FUN and addictive single and multiplayer alike. S! Pilotasso Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 Tried it now with the F-15. Im afraid I got both mirages without major problems. :) After take off I climbed to 35000 feet when I got the first mirage at about 20 miles I kept the burners lit untill I reached 5 miles from the bogey, I dived on it and caught mirage climbing after me slowly. Then I swich into guns and hit it in a frontal pass, it started to leak fuel and after a few BFM manuevers it simply plunged into to the ground. After this I climbed as hard as I could but the second mirage did a better job chasing me and we ended up making a deadly descending spiral, but at 2000 feet the mirage broke the spiral at wich time I truned around and straffed him from behind. Piece of cake...BTW how can I record track? Never tried it before and the key commands on the documents didnt help me. .
Ice Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Pilotasso, they are only the first pair. See how far you can go without losing a plane :-)
Pilotasso Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 but how do I save a simple track file? The doc's say its ctrl R but isnt that for refuel? .
Pilotasso Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 ...thing is that I dont even know how to start recording it much less save. the manual doesnt say anything, the key reference card is as enygmatic as it could be for this .The only drop down menu I know is the one for LOADING file types. LOMAC isnt very user friendly for recording tracks. I simply have no Idea where to start. O_o .
ED Team Olgerd Posted July 18, 2005 ED Team Posted July 18, 2005 In the mission editor press ctrl+r. After you will exit the mission just save the track in a file you wish - there will be file save dialog for this. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. Pilotasso Posted July 18, 2005 Posted July 18, 2005 many thanks! Ice and olgerD. I was realy lost! Heres the results of my gun fight. Watch what never to do in front of a Su-27. ;) Note: download part 1 first, when it is donne drop a line here to clear my quota to send part 2. .
Pilotasso Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 yep, heres part 2. You should see carefully what hapens the the second mirage... I grew overconfident with the flanker and turned into it too late, and he got on my 6. Once there its extremely difficult to shake it off. The AI even deployed airbrakes to prevent an overshoot, that I was attempting to do, but I ran out of airspeed and altitude...very bad. For all others, this is part 2 of my track. It was too large to put it here in one piece. If you want the first part check back later untill the others get this first. .
169th Taipan Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Good Mission ICE, I play this Mission yesterday and it was really funny. You have a real good hand for Mission design. SALUT http://www.169thpanthers.com.au/
britgliderpilot Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 First attempt on the Su27 mission - got two Mirages and an F15, didn't see the second F15 coming and ran into that advanced G-model, the bugger. What skill level and fuel load are the Mirages set to in this? I was able to out-turn them with a little patience . . . . . Flying low over the mountains kills the AI's ability to maneuvre a little - it's been like that ever since Flanker 2. They'll start a maneuvre without worrying about altitude, and then have to duck out of it . . . . which usually gives you the advantage. Nice mission, good practice. However . . . . in the nicest possible way . . . complaining that the community is dying because you haven't received many comments on your mission smells a little bit of inflated self-importance . . . . . ;) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Ice Posted July 19, 2005 Author Posted July 19, 2005 Well fact is community is dying. Less and less are seen in Hyperlobby each day. The community that is left SHOULD respond more in the forums because it keeps people motivated to make things better and is one way to turn things around. I believe everyone is important in LO-MAC and anyone who goes to the trouble of designing something and sharing it with the community deserves some sort of acknowledgement from their piers. ;)
