Oh this topic again. I really like Leavu and ERI and I wish we could use more mods, but security first. Even small chances make people feel safer. Less accusations etc.

 

I see what you’re saying GG, but people can do creative things with even own ship data. Look at LEAVU itself. It can give positions of other planes by datalink, a US style RWR for RUS jets. A little more creativity and who knows.

 

The alternative is forcing people to download mods that match the server config, but it's hard enough keeping a server busy with FC2, let alone forced downloads.

They don't. Was a just a small hypothetical. On our server, with just a few MiG-29Gs, it really doesn't effect things much.

I think we should alternate and have weeks of realism/hypothetical scenarios. Im observing more and more that tweaked planes missions and populated servers flying those missions have become the rule rather than the exception. I miss vanilla MP to be honest, even 80's missions where everyone is on SARH missiles.

... but this I cannot. Datalinking was half of the point of LEAVU. It locks Rus jets out of the US capabilities, and although Yoda invited people to code up Rus-specific displays (we have the manuals for the russian datalink, ya know!) no one took him up on it thanks to the vitriol being spewed left, right, front and center. But joke's on them ... LEAVU got Yoda a job doing the real thing.

 

As for a little more creativity: I have a pretty good idea, and so does Moa. I'm reasonably certain that there's very little to worry about, except for your point #1.

 

Also, no one seemed to complain about people using touchbuddy and getting US RWR in RUS jets in FC1 ... including certain people who threw poo at LEAVU, and some of them I'm sure were using TB themselves.

Yeah, usually we have a constant flow of bomber/chopper pilots, so its up to the fighter guys to pop in and get the action going... We ourselves (51st) dont have the time to fly on the server much unfortunately as we are busy with internal trainings and event preparations.

Fear mongering and misinformation tossed left and right really put a scarlet letter over "LEAVU". Maybe a "LEAVU" weekend on your server; one weekend out of the month to allow LEAVU would be a fair compromise? Just an idea

This is small group of people who are always online and know each other. They are not stupid to cheat because they play this game for years probably will still play for years to come they have name in this group and they do not want to be banned.

Stop staying behind your sides and try to look in to the bigger picture, sometimes you guy's sounds like a peasants from the middle age "Oou God he is born with red hear, he must be devil, burn him before we all die".

Sorry disagree. You can have people change their nicks for both legit and un-legit reasons. It goes both ways.

Why cheat if people can us R-77's and some guided bombs on Su-27's, 120's and mavericks on Mig's? I haven't seen anything too crazy/maybe cheating in a long time. The only thing I have seen, which isn't a cheat is a few people that fly really low when they have a missile (active or semi-active) fired at them. If you carry them, then just fire a heater if you are close enough.

 

GG, people weren't saying anything about TB back in FC1. Also about TB, it still showed the difference between the 27 and 29 on the TEWS, not both jets showing up as a 29 as it was for people not having TB.

I am sure if that was as easy everyone would do it and make their own things with it... but that's not the case... maybe some people know but they don't like to fly Russian aircraft in sim so they don't want to bother with it (like Yoda for exmaple).

How in the world can you get RWR on touchbuddy... doesn't that require data export as well? Touchbuddy (I use it for DCS A-10C as UFC for example) is for sending keystrokes since you use touchscreen so, unless you have data export on you can't see RWR on it.

To be fair there is things missing on both jets; but I get the feeling that f-15 fliers don't like the idea of the su-27 using r-77 missiles; some argue that the r-77s is not in active service; when we know that the russians have sold it to several countries. One of my favorite arguments is "no pictures; then it is not real" if someone finds a picture "oh that is a captive test missile; it is not a real missile" The russians have shown tons of new seekers for the r-27 and still people argue that the r-27 is an updated totally inferior missile. How do you guys know for real; have you guys seen real test fires of the r-27 on all its versions and the aim-120s? That stuff is classified.

R-77's are not a big deal on su-27's. The 104th has proven that with their mod. To me and a lot of eagle drivers it's the same as fighting a 29
