Frostiken Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 I'll post it here, but you seem to have found a bug, Fish - you shouldn't have your Glideslope needle before / without a localizer signal. On a more minor note you shouldn't hear the Morse code unless you're within the localizer lobes either. Excellent video though, I'm going to give it a shot myself. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

This is not a bug. In general you shouldn't follow the glideslope unless you captured the localizer. There's nothing to prevent you from doing it the Fish(y)- way :) On a more minor note you shouldn't hear the Morse code unless you're within the localizer lobes either. This is a confirmed bug. The audio panel selections don't work as advertised. Supposedly adressed in patch .8. Nothing to do with "being within the LOC lobes though... :) "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage..."

Try the same scenario at night, same cloud base and when you see those runway lights "appear", as you descend below the cloud base you will have a smile;) Just a thought, if you intercept G/S from below its easier to track. That's just the ILS receiver set, which is actually composed of the C-9445 Cockpit Control Panel, and the R-1871 Radio Receiver. The ARN-108 simply supplies input to the CPU-132/A Flight Director Computer, which is responsible for actually driving the steering bars. In order to satisfy the requirements to display glideslope command steering, the following conditions must be met: 1) valid localizer signal 2) valid glideslope signal 3) the aircraft must be within 2 dots of the localizer 4) the aircraft must be within .5 dots of the glideslope At that point, pitch steering will be displayed until/unless excessive glideslope deviation occurs.
