sirrah Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) For those interested, I found a way to simulate an onboard external camera view. Might be nice if you like editing replays It's pretty simple, but it just took me some time to figure out how and where to get it to work. --------------------------------------------------------------- Just change the following lines in your server.lau file: CameraTerrainRestriction = False RearCameraPos = {o[1] - 11.8 ,o[2] - 2.5, o[3]} --------------------------------------------------------------- It changes the location of your LShift-F4 view Have fun:joystick: Edited June 26, 2011 by sirrah forgot to mention cameraterrainrestriction 3 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH

Soul Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Looks great Sirrah! Hopefully it doesn't trigger the MP integrity check.
MemphisBelle Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Glad you found it sirrah. I could be wrong but editing the server.lua may trigger the MP integrity check. I dont know if this matters in this case, but I modified my server.lua for the CameraTerrainRestriction entry, which I set to false. I dont have any issues in MP. dbeaty Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Just change the following line in your server.lau file: RearCameraPos = {o[1] - 11.8 ,o[2] - 2.5, o[3]} : That looks awesome. Does that allow you to use all the camera positions in your demo with the one mod? sirrah Posted June 26, 2011 Author Posted June 26, 2011 That looks awesome. Does that allow you to use all the camera positions in your demo with the one mod? It just changes the position of the LShift-F4 view. You can move the camera to the desired position with your mouse and it will stay there regardless your flight manouvres. Oh and I forgot to mention you will have to change the CameraTerrainRestriction line in the same server.lau file from true to False to be able to get the camera lower to the ground when taking off (thanks MemphisBelle ) System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
Kuky Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Server.lua should be forced by the server so is not checked, instead file is dictated by the hosting machine PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR

dbeaty Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I tired it and then realised I am flying in SP not a server. I am looking for the SP file that does the same thing as server.lua. view.lua does not have those parameters so this is really only relevant to MP views? I'd like to do the same in SP. I have noticed terrain restriction on the enemy views when I pan around in SP. Speaking of videos, how do I activate AVI recording, is there a keyboard hotkey assigned? dbeaty Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 I was going to create a movie using cockpit cams and airframe cams. Riddle me this: I have made the edits to server.lua and if I go into instant action, I can see the new LSHift F4 GoPro camera angles! Perfect! But I wanted to use a mission made before I edited server.lua. If I load up that mission and fly, these new views do not work. Nor do they work for any tracks made from that mission. I have not tried creating a brand new mission since the edits to see if will work. But obviously, the mission is not using the edited file. popov Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I tried but doesnt seem that it works for me... I must do something wrong somewhere. I have found actually many Server.lua file... but I manage logically thinking that the one to edit must be the one in the /Config/View folder. I tested on a quick mission I did and hit the Left Shift F4 and I still get the regular view from behind... cant seem to understand really how this should work... X( ...
