I'm guessing you cant actually make hud/mfd's in cmd (not sure as i havent looked into it much) so i'm guessing you will generally move things around using the default hud for the pit. Like you would with Onepride's tools. The limitation with those tools is that the mirrors dont work with the skins/lod trick and when you move the ILS stuff you actually move the whole pit model so its very difficult to get the correct position in relation to the view point and ground.

Here you can just place the stuff and dont have to worrie about the geometry and use the .lom pit as pit-GLASS.lom and also get the mirrors, in my view that would be the prefered way to do it

Yeah it would seem the HUD/MFDs are hard-coded. It would be awesome to have more control over avionics and systems, but I'm banking on hacking DCS to provide that ability.

sorry

From GLViewer-UserGuide, we need GLViewer-cmd.exe application and GLViewer-cockpit.exe application, but can't find GLViewer-cmd.exe application in the download file.

Whether these tools are outdated or not, the point remains that ED are still supporting the modding community.

Hardly supporting it,

Lockon was released in November 20, 2003, 6 YEARS later they released the scenery editing tools, with no documentation.

8 YEARS down the line you now supply the CMD tools, compatible only with software that was released on June 15th 1999.

ED are fortunate to have talented modders, who btw had figured out how to get cockpits into FC2 already

The only problem here is that this technology is VERY old, and we don't support it for a long time.

That's ED in a nutshell, you will only ever get the plug-ins when the team have moved on to using newer techniques. All the community get are the castoffs that are no longer of use or supported by ED.

DCS A10 was released on February 21, 2011, I look forward to the release of the un-documented plugins/scenery tools in 2017 when you have developed and no longer support the older methods.

You don't deserve such a loyal and hard working modding community, and you certainly don't make life easy for them.

Completely agreed, we should think more about modding community. It is easy to say, but it is not that easy to do. I hope things will change in future.

Nice

You should start it with releasing new ModelViewer.exe for EDM files.

Another thing would be great: implement lua FiX too into program.

Rotating weapons around vertical axis needed for correct/precise pylon positioning, primarily for F-15C, F-15E, F-4E underfuselage pylons.

did you select the correct variable in the edm plugin options screen? I will try to get a sample model. They have not released the modelviewer right?

"They have not released the modelviewer right?"

No.

I'm glad you agree, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Most software company's who don't want they're games developed, prevent it from happening, they don't pretend to support the community by handing them useless dated plug ins.

ED this is what people are saying about you away from this "fanboy" bubble of a forum.

Yep, i aim my requests at ED. To Dmut, Chizh, Yo-Yo and Olgerd. :smilewink:

Very nice to see this response. :) We do understand it's not easy to help us with a full plate and a small dev team, but I have hope that future work will benefit modders as a core part of the community.

You need to realise that there are people, yourself included, that can ascertain exactly who caused your Rep to drop into the red zone. That said, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you know who did it (User CP tab). Yet you have the audacity to infer that ED dropped your reputation?

You and I know that's a blatant lie.

For voicing an opinion you think that deserves bad rep ? do you think that people that agree with me deserve bad rep too?

There is nothing anywhere in my CP that shows who and why my rep dropped, I also assumed that a moderator (ED) did it for whatever reason.

Personally I would like to be able to disable the rep system and not even see it.

Anyway guys don't make such a big deal about it, I simply stated what many people are saying about ED's pseudo support in pm's and emails.

Viper this is pretty... ridiculous. It's quite an assumption to imply that he should know every feature of this forum, and assume that he should know ED forum moderators well enough to think they wouldn't change his rep.

He's got a right to his opinion, just like any ED testers have a right to send him negative rep... it's someone's opinion.

The limitation with those tools is that the mirrors dont work with the skins/lod trick and when you move the ILS stuff you actually move the whole pit model so its very difficult to get the correct position in relation to the view point and ground.

Real position of the view point is set in server.lua by row "CockpitLocalPoint[PlaneIndex.iSu_34] = {9.0, 1.45, 0.0}" - X,Z,Y. The zero-point is coincides to center of mass of an aircraft. In the cockpit's scene center of the ILS-object always have Z = 0 and direction to X-axis. So if you want to change the HUD's position, obviously you should know an X/Y/Z offsets in relation to old HUD's position. Then set new values in server.lua as "CockpitLocalPoint[PlaneIndex.iSu_34] = {9.0 - offsetX, 1.45 - offsetZ, 0.0 - offsetY}"

That's... a lot of emoticons.

Not sure I've found what you're talking about, unless it's the exe in the A10C bin directory that I haven't been able to start.

Posted (edited)

Beaker, make a second copy of your A-10C SP shortcut, and edit the path to point to ModelViewer.exe instead, and delete the --console at the end since you don't need it. Works fine. ;)
