takes me back a few years. I wonder if I still have the cardboard cockpit stashed away somewhere.

I don't understand why all team who have a virtual pit don't make it public...

So I understand the choise

For talking about your pit, just amazing :)

Again a dreamy one like all other :noexpression:

Great job so far guy's. I know what kind of work goes into these and you are to be commended for your dedication and determination to get that pit working correctly.

"I don't understand why all team who have a virtual pit don't make it public"

I don't know everyone Pougatchev.

Last I checked the VSB have made our duel cockpit mod public.

It is our first generation version mind you but it works.

Please don't fault anyone from making the cockpits public.

There is a HUGE amount of time that goes into creating one of these things and some may not what them out

either before they are just perfect (which they never are lol) or they flat out do not want to give them away.

As far as I can remember I have not read that anything posted in this forum had to be free.

Although I wouldn't use it, I feel the same way. If you aren't gonna make it public, then why post screenshots of it.

Snowbird, don't you guys want people who want to fly with this pit and be happy also? That's like Combatace making the Su-33 just for himself as well as the other guys that fixed the other models.

Well Cali, that is not my call as far as the VRA mod is concerned. It is their's and their's alone.

I don't say guys who make pit don't public are idiot, i understand the point of view, but that's not my point of view.

I prefer to don't talk about that, i don't want to make an opinion war.

I'm sure Ells meant not for public release but forgot to add the "just yet but here's some progress" to the end there.

...against a very strong current up a stream...merily merily...

Pougatchev and Cali,

We have always released our mods (and models) to the public, in fact we recommend it to fly on our Phantom server.

We just don't release the current models we use for the current year's training and live shows.

Last year's mod is available on our website, if you cared to look before winging about not getting this lovely new 3d model.

And here is the link: http://www.virtualredarrows.com/register-to-receive-free-mods

So back on topic...the reason for the post is to show off the huge amount of work and dedication that went into making the model by Crow and what it looks like in an awesome flight simulator.

To get people interested... and possibly joining... and God forbid, someone could even sell pits and make a profit (just look at all the crap 3rd party devs put out for FSX that costs more than the sim itself). Just saying. ;)

Nice work on the cockpit Crow! :)

I wouldn't join a squad just cause they made a pit, but I'm sure some people might. Not gonna make money selling pits in FC2.

Not to keep side swiping the purpose of the post, as LD said, but I have made money making models for FC2 with the RAF Recruitment team using our Eurofighter Typhoon at Waddington Air Show in 2008 and 2009.

So no reason why not to make money out of it to further fund our great hobby.

And I think you missed the purpose of what LD was talking about with generating interest but that's ok, I respect everyone's opinions.

I didn't miss anything, I got what he was saying. If you made money out of it then good for you.

I'm kinda with Cali on this one... if any mod/work is not meant to be released for public (at any stage) then I see no point to show it to everyone... it's kinda like showing food to hungry people and tell them they can't have it... figuratively speaking :D

But fair enough if you state already it won't be released for public... at least you are being up front about it and will not put anyone's hopes up then make them crash'n'burn ;)

Hi Guy's:

Don't get confused with VRA and VEAO. VEAO has always and will as far as I know, release models and mods to the general public as we have always done. The VEAO team is made up of several modders from the VRA team and they have their own priorities and mods for their Virtual Sqn..

Lots of Virtual teams show some of their work but is not made available to public. This is part of the Virtual world of aerobatics and is more personal than mods for FC2 etc.

VEAO has shown a pit for the Typhoon and I am sure that this pit will be made public when time comes. Lots of work to do yet and it takes time but it will come to the public. Hope this clears up the pit issue. cheers and good flying.

People show work of all kinds without giving it out, and many people get enjoyment from seeing it. I enjoy seeing these updates, although I won't have the model. That's how 90% of things work in this world... what makes you expect to be given things just because you see them? How is the internet any different than walking into someone's store?
