Bushmanni Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 DCS BS is getting a new patch so here's some hopefully not too major wish items. Is it possible to change the pilot view angle offset so that it changes when zooming so that the helmet sight stays at the same position in screen? You could then use the helmet sight with full zoom but not have it at the center of the instrument panel while looking forward. Other nice thing to have would be option to disable in-game trimming so that you could use a stick that has a force feel trim mechanism built into it. Of course the trim button would still affect autopilot. DCS Finland: Suomalainen DCS yhteisö -- Finnish DCS community -------------------------------------------------- SF Squadron
Nate--IRL-- Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) There is a mod that allows you to do this .... I'll see if I can find it.... EDIT:- Found it --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=584093&postcount=6 As for the trimming, I doubt that will be touched. Bushmanni Posted July 27, 2011 Author Posted July 27, 2011 What I meant was that the vertical angle will change according to zoom so that the helmet sight will keep the screen position of the default view regardless of zoom, ie. it will always stay a little above the center of the screen. And FF joysticks already have the in-game trimming disabled, all that would be needed is to give the same option to everybody. Scrape Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Would it be possible to allow aircraft to share lasers? Lase a target for another aircraft? That would be an awesome change. "It's amazing, even at the Formula 1 level how many drivers still think the brakes are for slowing the car down."
Snoopy Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Would it be possible to allow aircraft to share lasers? Lase a target for another aircraft? That would be an awesome change. You can already lase a target for another player. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
sobek Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 Would it be possible to allow aircraft to share lasers? Lase a target for another aircraft? That would be an awesome change. Obviously only aircraft that are compatible IRL. You are most likely not going to see a BS be able to lase for a LGB drop. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Cowboy10uk Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 I appreciate it's not real, but let's be honest here, those of us who have both BS and A10 , WILL be flying them together on the same side, possibly using the BS as a afac. In that situation e.g. If both aircraft was operating on the same side, Then I'm sure someone would find a way to datalink them together or at least have them usin the same laser code. Certainly I know my little group is planning to exactly that, and I'm sure hav a great time doing it. At mo, I'm guessing we will be going back to calling in strikes via map ref. No biggie will still be fun. Fingers crossed someone will find a way to mod this to allow, both aircraft to work together. Smoke rockets are highly underrated and something you should definitely look into. We've been playing with that and they really are very useful: mark the targets with smoke, then do a talk-on with the smoke as reference. Cowboy10uk Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Yep, sorry I didn't explain myself well, that's exactly what we are thinking off at mo, due to the fact the lasers are not compatable, to be honest I cannot wait for my first afac mission, rolling in with smoke then talking in the A10s, just finished reading low level hell, about Vietnam scouts, although it sounds very dangerous which I'm sure it was, it also sounds like a lot of fun, well at least when you are safe on a pc :) I appreciate DCS won't be making the lasers compatable as you are concentrating on making the. Best realistic sim you can, and I fully support that idea, I will keep my fingers crossed that someone makes a mod to assist in this. AlphaOneSix Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Well if you are playing MP with TeamSpeak (or any other voice program) it's trivial to make a target point using the Shkval and then just transmit the Lat/Long to an A-10, who can hand-jam the coords into his CDU. Not terribly elegant, but considering today's disparity among systems, rather common.
sorcer3r Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 At night the Ka50 should see the A10s IR marking (nightvision = on). Am I right? [sIGPIC]http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b582/sorcerer17/sorcf16-b_zpsycmnwuay.gif[/sIGPIC]
Frostiken Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 At night the Ka50 should see the A10s IR marking (nightvision = on). Am I right? That actually depends on the kind of NVGs they're using and how far into NIR they can see. I would assume yes, if only because they have to see their own IR pointers... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Sounds like a plan, Thanks AlphaOnesix, all I can say is bring it on, I think the only issue I'm going to have is which aircraft do I fly, BS or A10. :) This is going o be great, keep up the great work guys and galls.
