I heard that recently on twitter. Can somebody approve that message?

Could raise the chance that we get a KA52 sim in the future I thought.

142? Given at the moment there's only 10 of an 80's mostly redundant helicopter is unlikely IMO. Another 5 might be more likely but 142 seems implausibly high. I think that's fake.

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

You're thinking about Ka-50 I bet.

Ka-52 != Ka-50.

The difference between them is sort of like comparing a Vietnam-era AH-1 with a current AH-1Z... ;)

And the US Air Force was suppose to get how many F-22's? These numbers don't mean anything until they are delivered.

Considering that its not in series production until 2014... and its meant to fill up the carriers... which won't be produced for several years anyway...

We're talking from today to 2020 I reckon. ;) So I think it's normal. I have more faith in this, than T-50 in Series by 2015. :D

Interesting photo - looks like Vice-Admiral Kulakov is back in service with the Northern Fleet(new "626" hull number) in a strange looking configuration.

This vessel didn't have Kynshal systems originally - in the photo it now has the Podcat antenna post for it at the rear, but not at the front. The front mast now carries a small targeting antenna in instead of the old Topol......looks like a "mini Rif-M" type of solution.

OK wasn't aware they were that different. Looking at Evil's pics yeah that cockpit looks a helluva lot better than the Ka-50. Sounds like Russia's going serious upgrades.

Cool pics. ^^ Supposedly these are Pre-series production.
Why do you say that? The helicopter is now in serial production.

Just to clarify, as it seems it has been missed thus far. The 140 figure is an overall figure of helicopters composing of 52s, 28s etc...

There was indeed some confusing reporting about this initially, but actually the order refers specifically to Ka-52s. What is less clear is how many of these are intended for the air force and how many are intended to be the navalized Ka-52K.

I read that both the Navy and the Army variants were not in Serial production until 2012+ and that everything produced until now was considered slow pre serial. :huh: Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that it made sense becasue AFAIK there is no solid doctrine on how to use them and integrate them into the wider forces as of yet... something that is still been worked on?

Take a look at the production line...

Yes I see it. But.... historically speaking 'pre series' phase means that any modifications can still be made before full blown 'Series production'. And generally any modifications that need to be done can only come from field tests and the final scripting of its operations doctrine, using the already made units. I suppose I'm really just asking the question, and you have answered, yes its in serial production. ;)
