Not to be or sound rude (that's certainly not my intent of this post), but...

Available for Order - $75 000 NZD
For that amount of bones, I would hope for a video that shows a lot more than just the pit view in the dark, regardless of which mode is being played.

Nonetheless it looks fantastic. I would certainly want it for Black Shark.

Looks awesome, but I would be so pissed I cant push the buttons in the cockpit. Its so realistic looking I need to be able to push those buttons.

That's an awesome setup you've got there Zahry. As for pressing buttons that might be able to work with a power glove.

Hmm, that led to some interesting videos. I have a Wii I never use. Maybe I will make one of those gloves. :book:

Hi All, :-) Thanks for the interest.

I know the price seems quite high but when you have a look at it from commercial point of view it is cheap as chips - for home use not so much.

if you consider the specs (size of the screen, number of projectors, motion feedback platform and variety of controls) it is a bargain - just the screen normally costs at least 35 000,- not mentioning the projectors and warping software which would cost about the same ;-D (check out immersaview prices and that's only front projection:-). The main market as I said are flight schools and flight simulation (gaming) centers. You can connect 4-8 of those simulators together and fly coop missions, aerobatics or dogfight and the price per hour is in a lunch money area.

I'll try to post something with sim mode on once I'll learn how to use the Black shark properly, lol (so far I was using the simulator for airplane and helicopter training as you can see on other youtube vids.). That footage I've posted on youtube was from the first day I managed to get it going in the simpit and from my head cam.

The cockpit is clickable with a glove (option A) or with a touchscreen (option B) at the moment I'm not using it as I'm struggling to remember all those 50 buttons and switches on cyclic and throttle (HOTAS):pilotfly:

It works for Black Shark, LockOn FC2, Wings of Prey, FSX, Xplane and some racing and shooting games. (A10 and cliffs of dover coming soon). I could make a simpler home version with front projection, cheaper controls and without motion but the immersion and the feeling wouldn't be there (I have Heli CPL/I so I'm always comparing to real life).

Would it be cheaper to buy yourself a real Helicopter?

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

+1

Much better deal.

Not saying I wouldnt buy it if I was stupid rich and could waste my money on dumb things whenever I wanted.

good news, soon you might be able to try it in combat flight simulation centres. I would love to have it at home myself but it is off my charts as well (even though I'm making it :-)

Not sure about that :-D just my helicopter license cost me $140 000,- NZD and even the bloody r22 cost about $500 p/h these days, LOL.

Yeah, rotorcraft tend to be a bit pricey when you actually look into them. You could easily buy yourself a used fixed wing aerobatic aircraft for the same price or less if you look in the right places though.

However, it is probably cheaper in the U.S. to get certified in a rotorcraft unless you are talking about a private rotor, instrument rotor, and commercial rotor along with turbine class endorsements in one package. Then I can imagine it would cost something similar.

However to satisfy your curiosities, R22 for sale $89,000 USD, and it's from 1988.

Is that a professional/commercial license? That is like 10x more expensive than in the USA for a private up to 12k lbs license.

that was all the expenses up to instructor (PPL/CPL/IFR/Instructor) - having a good sim back than it could saved me quite a few thousands :pilotfly:
