flanker0ne Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Where you read that this weapon can be mounted on the Ka-50/52? SCOPRI DI PIU': https://www.amvi.it/joinus.php DISCORD COMBINEDOPS The Battle Planning Tool
adam12 Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Apart from the size, there is no reason why it couldn't be. Might need a guidance pod to go with it.
159th_Viper Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 As far as rotaries are concerned, due to be used on the Mi-28N and Ka-52 (Hermes-A). Then there's fixed-Wing with the СУ-39. Also for Ships (Hermes-K) as well as for integration on the SA-22 Greyhound. No Ka-50 I'm afraid. Theoretically they could, but why would they want to? 159th_Viper Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Aye - I meant the Helo as opposed to the Hermes. Ka-50's are no longer operational and as a consequence it would be silly to fit them with the system. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Boberro Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Has it ever been mounted not as prototype? I've been watching Hermes since years and still nothing new about. Word had it from KBP Tula that flight tests were to be conducted in 2010 with production in 2011-2012. Missile is almost identical to the 57E6Y of the Pantsir-S1 so it seems to be a delay in the delivery system as opposed to the missile itself. In all probability a cost-issue (always is). One thing's for certain, couple the Pantsir with the Hermes and you are the indisputable King of the Short-Range battle :gun_rifle: Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Just ooc, if Russia entered a war that would last a year or more, what would their main production attack helicopter be?

They cant. the Russians cant afford to fight everyone at the same time.. Chechnya, Georgia... Russians dont need to develop a helo for a near/far situation. They got ICBMs stowed away from the naked eye... Trust me, Russia is a force to be reckoned with... Even after Reagan divided the USSR, the Federation of Russia still has advanced nuclear submersibles, strategic lift / bomb planes.. But they wouldnt touch anybody unless provoked.. But for the sake of your question, I think the Ka-52 is in order.. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. But for the sake of your question, I think the Ka-52 is in order.. Russia is trying to back to the first league of the world, they want to develop new things but as you mentioned can't afford too much which is clearly visible. Their ICBMs are also getting older and older, while last tests of IIRC Bulava failed dropping missile 10 km after its launch. Today? Would be the Mi-28N I would have thought. Don't forget a bunch of modernised Mi-24s :) I guess that would be main power as Mi-28N and Ka-52 are much rarer. Edited October 20, 2011 by Boberro Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. EtherealN Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Even after Reagan divided the USSR He did no such thing. The USSR divided itself, fueled by the Brezhnev stagnation, growing nepotism and it's associated corruption. ;) (For some interesting perspectives I recommend the books by Andrei Lavrov.) :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
EtherealN Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 But for the sake of your question, I think the Ka-52 is in order.. 150 are ordered, but that's split between navy and army aviation. There are way more modernised 24's and new 28's. The 52 is a complement, not the main force. 213 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 nepotism in that context is a synonym for cronyism.

159th_Viper Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Which modern Russian helo is the most low-tech? Operational Combat Helo? Gotta be the Mi-24 variants I would have thought. adam12 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I would hazard to guess that the Mi-24 low tech variants would be their most numerously produced helicopters, if that is the case.
