VTJS17_Fire Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Hi, in Headspace's TARS manual, I read that the Blackshark operates 2 radios: the R-800L1 (to communicate with the tower) and the R-828 (to communicate with the groundcrew) - according to TARS, both radios can be used with TARS to speech with other players. I'm a Warthog driver, so I don't have a glue about the Shark. - In which frequency range does the R-800L1 operate? It's the radio, to communicate with the tower. So, it has to be the counterpart of the A-10s VHF/AM radio. Its frequency range goes from 116.00 to 151.975 MHz. - What's the frequency range for the R-828. Thanks in advance. kind regards, Fire Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet! Griffin Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) Easiest way to find out is to download the Black Shark flight manual HERE. "The Ka-50 uses the R-800 VHF radio to communicate with other helicopters and ground crew. The R-800 operates at frequencies between 100 and 149 MHz as well as 220 to 400MHz." "The R-828 VHF radio is used for communication with a Forward Air Controller (FAC) and other ground force units. The system provides constant radio communication within line- of-sight and it does not require frequency searching and adjustment. The frequency range is 20 - 60 MHz." AlphaOneSix Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 The R-800L1 radio can do both VHF and UHF. Its frequency range is 100.000MHz-149.975MHz and 220.000MHz-399.975MHz. It also has an AM/FM selector so you can choose either AM or FM for any of the frequencies. The R-828 radio operates from 20.000MHz-59.975MHz. I believe it's FM only. Also, I don't think there is a way to load the radio in game, is there? I know you cannot set the frequencies on the radio, you can only select from one of ten pre-loaded frequencies.
VTJS17_Fire Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 Ok, thank you guys. If we can't select the frequency manuelly, does anybody know, which frequencies are loaded with the pre-load function? My mates and I have to know this, we want to test TARS compatibility with Sharks and Hawgs. kind regards, Fire Hardware: Intel i5 4670K | Zalman NPS9900MAX | GeIL 16GB @1333MHz | Asrock Z97 Pro4 | Sapphire Radeon R9 380X Nitro | Samsung SSDs 840 series 120GB & 250 GB | Samsung HD204UI 2TB | be quiet! AlphaOneSix Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 You can set the frequency on the R-800L1, just not on the R-828. Not sure if there is an LUA file for that one or not...
Headspace Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 If you are running TARS, your frequencies are visible in your info page in Teamspeak 3. The R-828 operates on a number of preset frequencies. You will be able to see what ones using that method.
Karcha Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Hi, This is an outline of the possibilities: - A10C [uHF AN/ARC 164] and Ka-50 [R-800L1 VHF-2] Frequency Range 225,000 – 399,975. - A10C [AM VHF-1 AN/ARC 186] and Ka-50 [R-800L1 VHF-2(AM)] Frequency Range 116,000 – 151,975. - A10C [FM VHF-2 AN/ARC 186] and Ka-50 [R-828 VHF-1] Frequency Range depends on the Preset Channels in Ka-50: Ch.01 [35,650] Ch.02 [25,675] Ch.03 [48,550] Ch.04 [35,650] Ch.05 [67,775] Ch.06 [52,825] Ch.07 [48,250] Ch.08 [42,050] Ch.09 [52,750] Ch.10 [23,725] [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic71690_1.gif[/sIGPIC]

You will be able to see what ones using that method. Is there an updated version of TARS that allows this? The War Hawks are currently using TARS version 1.0.1 beta 11 and can only see 35.650 on the R-828 regardless of channel selection. Speed Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Is there no way to control the volume on the R-800? Can't find any mention of one in the manual or in the pit, other than the squelch, and that's not a variable volume knob. Grimes Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Is there an idiots guide to the BS radios? I never really took the time to learn alot of the Ka-50 systems, and now that radios are actually useful it might be something I should figure out. PS, really hope we get interactive training missions for that thing like the A-10C training missions. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. If the AN/ARC-186(V) Radio 2 work on VHF FM maybe the R-828 operate on AM, or maybe is a bug? SCOPRI DI PIU': https://www.amvi.it/joinus.php DISCORD COMBINEDOPS The Battle Planning Tool
