59th_LeFty Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) Are there new countries added? Not since latest DCS. Not in FC3 if you will. Edited November 9, 2012 by 59th_LeFty [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:
59th_LeFty Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Anyone else experiencing the F-15C being 'bouncy' in the air? Check your axis settings. I don't felt that kind of differnce. [sIGPIC]http://www.forum.lockon.ru/signaturepics/sigpic5279_1.gif[/sIGPIC] I could shot down a Kitchen :smartass:
VincentLaw Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) can you confirm: got F-15C Air to Ground Mode for dumb bombs ? F-15C can only load the following: AIM-7M: Stations 4,5,7,8 AIM-9M: Stations 1,3,9,11 AIM-9P: Stations 1,3,9,11 AIM-120B: Stations 1,3,4,5,7,8,9,11 AIM-120C: Stations 1,3,4,5,7,8,9,11 Fuel Tank 610 gal: Stations 2,6,10 Smoke Generator RGBYOW: Stations 1,11 So the only air to ground capability is with the 20 mm cannon... Although I have managed to blow up a radio tower with an AIM-9M in the A-10C before (I was aiming for a tank next to it). Edited November 9, 2012 by VincentLaw [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

wasserfall Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Just out of curiosity: where do people go where there's no internet? Hiking in the himalayas? (Serious question! The concept of being in a place where there's no connection is something I've only seen pretty much once in ages - and that was when I was in a car through sibiria this winter. :P ) You could have tried the MLM Netherlands airforce museum and the Aviodrome Lelystad, NO internet Not only lack of internet but those buildings are a cage of Faraday. We had to let many people down for not being able to demonstrate DCS. So think again when you make a joke! But let me ask, why do we need internet on a LAN? GGTharos Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Because connection to the master server provides server admins the ability to block known offenders from playing on their servers, since each key generates a unique UCID that is then registered with and verified through the master server. In turn, this also serves to ensure that someone connecting to master server bought their game. There is no way curently to allow network play without a connection to the master server as such a thing would subvert this scheme. But let me ask, why do we need internet on a LAN? Joe Kurr Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Just out of curiosity: where do people go where there's no internet? Hiking in the himalayas? (Serious question! The concept of being in a place where there's no connection is something I've only seen pretty much once in ages - and that was when I was in a car through sibiria this winter. :P ) You don't need to go into the himalayas or drive through Siberia to have no connection. Just try setting up a LAN inside a hangar, preferably an all-metal one, in the middle of an airfield (either military or civil). Also, IIRC LAN stands for Local Area Network, i.e. not necessarily connected to the outside world (as opposed to WAN, or Wide Area Network) And another thing. Let's say we do have internet, who is going to guarantee us that we are able to reach the master server? The connection could be broken at: - My local PC - My router - My modem - My ISP - My ISPs backbone - EDs ISP - The datacenters router - The master server itself Please note that this might not be a complete list. So even IF the master server is eventually stable as hell, there are more than enough other points of failure, making this 'solution' less than desirable... When hosting over a LAN, I know all players who want to join my server, and if someone is being a jerk, I can personally go to him and kick his ass. Please reconsider the way this master server requirement is working now, else you'll ruin some very great events (i.e. FS Weekend, Milsim, LLTM to name but a few) Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
GGTharos Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) First, it's not my call. ED always periodically reviews such things. Second, it's not about you or people you know. Third, what's stopping you from using a 3G router to provide the required connectivity? With a long enough cable you can place it outside any faraday cage. Joe Kurr Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I know it's not your call, but I know ED are reading here as well. What's stopping me from using a 3G router are the costs, I'd have to pay for every byte transferred, which can quite add up over a weekend. Also, the cable would have to be quite long (over 100 meters in Aviodrome), so that's not an option. To be honest, I'm getting tired of everyone offering the 'solution' of using a cell phone or equivalent. How is EtherealN going to connect via 3G when he's in the Himalayas or driving through Siberia? ;) Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
GGTharos Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Made a small correction to my post. EtherealN is going to have to live with severe Starcraft withdrawal. ;) I understand; unfortunately I don't think ED can accomodate everyone. If I were to guess, I would say that ED evaluates the number of requests for LAN without Master Server vs. some other internal requirements, and perhaps there are not enough people asking for LAN play to mitigate other things. But I'm just guessing here. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Azrayen Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Oh, well, that made quite a few un-happy when it first appeared. Joe, add your name to the list... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70798
Joe Kurr Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Already did that when I first saw that topic. I've been following posts about this issue for quite some time, but none of the devs seems to care about it, the only 'officials' posting in those topics are the moderators, who can't say much about the topic (either because they don't know, or because of NDA) Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
