That rain effect does look amazing, shame it is in a train simulator and not my amazing DCS.

Mods I use: KA-50 JTAC - Better Fire and Smoke - Unchain Rudder from trim KA50 - Sim FFB for G940 - Beczl Rocket Pods Updated!

Processor: Intel Q6600 @ 3.00GHz

GPU: GeForce MSI RTX 2060 6GB

RAM: Crucial 8GB DDR2

HDD: 1TBGB Crucial SSD

OS: Windows 10, 64-bit

Ok that's it's correct but the effect it's possible to create in DCS A10C , BS2 and other modules? Rain effect:badmood: :megalol:

Will rain really be visible at all in a fast moving aircraft? I can understand it for the WWI aircrafts but not a modern jet or A-10 for that matter. A pilot will newer focus on the canopy glass but far away witch makes scratshes and objects on the glass dissapear.

 

When the aircraft is on ground the rain can be visible of course.

you can really see it streaming across the glass here. It is on landing of course but they are still going quite fast.

Rain would add so much immersion of visible on the canopy!

Sure on the ground the rain is visibile but where is the velocity on the rain disappear from the canopy? We can search with most video

obviously the a10 does not have wipers, but is it a air system is it not to blow away rain on canopy front glass? , when taxing in heavy storm conditions and landed.

 

during flight most of the droplets get blown off anyway with air flow.

As I said, on ground and focus on the glass the rain will be visible. Any other focus not visible.
Well, that was very light rain ... Think heavy rain + Ka-50. It has wipers for windshield and Shkval, I don't think they put them on there for show. It also flies much slower, especially when scanning/engaging targets ... It could certainly make things interesting :D

Anyway if the rain effect will do the Black Shark 2 the A10C will have this effect too.

Actually make 3D rain/snow will be nice cause its not, when we turn the camera we see the rain/snow fall but at the same trajectory not relatively to the ground but to the camera, that follow it, 3D or the same visual effect but in a 360° sphere...

Nice, and anyway i think adding rain effect will help to make more easily the frostbite effect cause both have a rapport with weather and canopy, several files will maybe be using by both ^^

"This is our first stab at a rain effect using Aily's new animated texture shader. It's a sandwich of two meshes outside the glass with two different rain drop animations on it.

 

The wiper switch (which I have problems finding in this short clip) swaps in a mesh layer with a 'cleared wiper' version of the animated rain. "

Actually, to be honest, snow that is 3D.. I mean you can taxi in it and have it make tracks from your tires... AND Blowing from the engines.... THAT... Would be epic... Though PFS will be limited seriously.

 

Rain and snow effect would be sweet.

3D snow on the ground would be cool too... Snow that also gets deeper as the snow stroms go on... Plows would be sweet... hahah... too much to ask

Yes that can be nice bun i think we don't need 3E snow for make tracks or blowing it, look at FSX the snow its not in 3D, we just need a little texture like the actual black tracks when we turn hard, and for blowing it just an effect like when we flight close to the ground the dirt effect, or like FSX with the engine do it.

And yes its too much to ask i think...

With an SDK a lot of people will be able to do that cause i think ED will never do it , its too much eye candy for them i think...

REL nice effect with the rain drops. That would be cool while doing a engine start or a slow taxi. But you would need to make is run back of the sides of the canopy during flight and a fast taxi.
