amazing... I am thinking about writing an email to one of the buyer´s wife. Something like: "Hey, are you aware what your husband is going to waste money for? Oh and by the way, have you seen the new shoe sale in town?"

Hope that´ll do the job and one of the slots gets free for me...:D

Another Status update. As always things are taking longer than I had planned. The connectors I was going to use for the backlight's didn't fit right so I had to switch to different ones which take longer to connect. I have the backlights assembled for three panels and two more to go. I also need to sand down the lip on the knobs so they are more securely fastened. I will need to go into the shop on Tuesday to do that. We are getting very close and I thank everyone for their patience again. Here are some shots of the backlight LED assembly process. It takes me about 2 hours to do one set.

First cut wire to length, cut some shrink wrap tube.

Next strip ends of the wire and tin them.

Now crimp and solder on the contacts for the panel connector.

Solder on the LED.

Hardest time is waiting for customs to decide the package is mostly harmless and slap the import tax on it.

FYI for those with panels in the mail. I will be posting software and a Helios update this weekend to support the panel. I'll also post some instructions on hooking it up. If you get it before I get them posted reach out to me before "hooking it up".

Looking good.

A few quick notes. When you hook up the USB cable the black lead should be towards the top where the pin is labeled ground. The green lead should be towards the bottom labels DTR. See picture below.

DO NOT hook up an external power supply while the USB cable is in place (you don't need it anyways, the external power is only when using a daisy chained bus controller).

I have a working version of Helios with the panel EOS LCD Board. I want to run a few more test tomorrow evening before sending it out.
