Well, I suppose it was just a matter of time, but after 26 hours of total flight time, I've finally completed my first solo!

I started in a Cessna 172, but I switched to a Piper Archer about 10 flight hours ago, and that's what I soloed in.

I thought I would have felt more excited about it, but I was so busy that I forgot to be excited. Oh well, maybe next time. :)

Now on to solo practices and cross country flying.

How was the landing?

I did three landings solo, two touch and go's, last one full-stop. They were all pretty decent because the wind was pretty much non-existent, and I'm nailing the landing airspeeds, but of course I still need some work, like with hitting my desired touchdown point, landing right on the centerline, and for some reason I have a lot of trouble transitioning my line of sight from the touchdown point to the other end of the runway during the flare.

So yeah I still need practice, but at least now we can move on in my training and start doing XC work. I feel like I've been stuck trying to figure out landings for the last 10 flight hours...I was always too fast (my instructor was rather vague on that, I actually figured it out on my own and made it a point to really nail the speeds).

Congrats! That's a big step!! I had the same issue with my landings... 2 or 3 lessons just working on those and then I had to fly with a different instructor due to scheduling issues and was nailing them after one flight. :)

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.
