Bombers are for those who want somethin' more than GheyTopGun ;)

I know you know pure A2A (F-15C) would be so booooring...

F-16/F-18>F15

F-16/F18 multiroles are the best. Period. Thank you.

:D

You forgot about the F-15E :D

^^I agree. Way more fun if you fight off bandits on the way in, bomb the hell out of something, and fight the way out.

That as opposed to going in circles until something pops up, then shooting at it before you can even see it.

hmm fast attack A/C nornally launch at least 12miles out, so you are saying you see them, Dog fights are Rare unless you are CAS, and even then your electronics picks them up. Watching too much Top Gun and Iron Eagle, lol:doh:

Drop down to the ground and see an A10 lock up on you, close and personal, AIM-9 up the tail pipe.. They are carried for a reason!!!I see more Dogfights with A10 and Helos, than I would with the fast flyers...Reaching out and touching someone many miles away is not a Dogfight!!!:music_whistling: WWII maybe I see it. As for Bombs, if it flies , it can drop them, just a question of how many and how accurate ????

Don't need a fast flier for a Nuke either, thats been proven!!!!All in all, each A/C has it's place in history. The fast fliers, just make more Movies!!!

P.S. Before you all Burn me, My PC is Custom Painted as an F-22. wanted F-17, but some how they lost count, F-16 to 18..22 then jump to 35..hmmm, Cheers all

I hope it's a "legacy" Hornet or even the F-15E, just not the F-16. Legacy Hornet is ugly, slow and short ranged, but at least it takes off from the carrier giving it some more excitement :)

But I guess the F-16C Block 52 or later would seem like a logical choice, or maybe even the F/A-18E from the perspective of making a simulator for the military.

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

It isn't much different from an F-16. Turns better, climbs worse, technically may have a more capable radar.

No, there's nothing logical about it. An aircraft will be chosen because a military contract has been acquired for it, not the other way around. There seems to be a bit more going on in the (general, not ED) DTS department than most people think (more than I know, and I know only bits and pieces more :P )

Attempting to guess what makes sense 'logically' will land you nowhere since you do not possess that information.

Well, if it really is going to be another DTS, then there are not so many choices, are there?

Edit: On second thought, scratch that, there are. :)

Maybe Glowing Amraam knows something, there's an F-18 taxiing out at the end of Project 10...

Yes, but the F-16 has been done to death so IMHO I find it rather plain and soulless. While rather similar technically, the F/A-18A/C would have the carrier operations going for it at least and thus a wider range of scenario possibilities for a campaign (or e.g. a Marine Harrier flying from the smaller carriers).

Logically, meaning, the aircraft are rather popular now so if there's going to be a need for a military training simulation, it certainly won't be for a legacy Hornet, or an F-14 (unfortunately). Additional logic would be to be single crewed as to fit in the current engine (but then again, I don't see why the engine couldn't be expanded for a two seat aircraft). That is all under an assumption that we're talking fighter bombers here and not some exotic aircraft (like e.g. the C-5M Galaxy for the crews to train for the new cockpits and stuff).. But, then again, maybe they need trainers for F-22s or F-35s ;)

Besides, until we get some definite information (which I don't expect will be anytime soon)we can always indulge ourselves in some pointless guessing..

Why?! Why is the F-15C so UNLOVED?! :D Come now, 104 kills to 0 losses!!! Might not be mulitrole, nor carrier-based, but it is one helluva fighter!

:smartass::D

F-15C (like Panda bears) have a very specific diet. They might be a bear, and might be powerful and sometimes dangerous... but still in the endangered species list.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

That anaology doesn't quite work, since the F-15 in many variants is widely proliferated with a long service life left, and even new models like the SE being offered.

Hence I specifically mention the F-15C

The best time to post is after your 10 beer. After you sober up and read the stuff you write, you will laugh for hours... at least I do :D...when I post...after 10 beers...:joystick:

Not an option on this particular forum for me (I'd end up accidently banning myself and Groove would throw a hissy at the mess I made), but for other forums: yeah, that has been known to happen. :P

One of the best moments ever were a flight on Panzers Midgettosser server, where my state was so bad I couldn't manage to stay stationary even with auto-hover on. The lesson learnt was: wait with celebrating until AFTER the mission. ;)

Did have another one similar to that though where there was an enemy somewhere and I couldn't figure out where, and Panzer comes in over the radio "don't panic now, but... he's literally right below you". I panicked and promptly conducted a CFIT. :P

That' the advantage of an F-15. Less terrain for me to collide with. :D

You have exactly the same terrain, except it'll take a little longer before getting to it :music_whistling::megalol:
