Krunkskimo Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 maps are roughly 93 square miles? i wouldnt mind buying it if a mil-sim mod is down the road but i'd also like the potential for a slightly larger map if thats to happen. Which ever comes first steam sale or milsim mod i'll probably get it. any word on modding tools or whatever?

Feuerfalke Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Looks very promising. I liked World in Conflict and played this a lot. Sure it had flaws - nothing is perfect. I'm very tempted by this game, but I'd love to hear more about it, before I spend the money and the time to dig in. Anyone with World in Conflict-experience willing to share a few words on familiarities and what's better (or worse)? :) MSI X670E Gaming Plus | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | 64 GB DDR4 | AMD RX 6900 XT | LG 55" @ 4K | Cougar 1000 W | CreativeX G6 | TIR5 | CH HOTAS (with BU0836X-12 Bit) + Crosswind Pedals | Win11 64 HP | StreamDeck XL | 3x TM MFD
Ali Fish Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 (edited) IF i was an army general in times of world peace, I`d be playing WEE as consolation for all that wasted training. imho its all better. the differing aspects of RTS games and their profound wish to be unique in all the wrong ways annoys me, WEE is a solid RTS game without the frillybits and bells and whistles. featuring no hidden special gameplay mechanics or endgame inducing nonsense other than strategy. 213 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 strategy games still thinking they can completely forgo realism. tsk tsk tsk. and i was actually starting to like it.
Ali Fish Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) once you get your head around the fact that anything you attack the enemy with can easily be game winning points (unit price) for the enemy. it becomes apparent there are so many ways to play it out. i have gone to using the basic deck for some matches and find myself condiderably more competant using cheap low powered units that are actually expendable. cichlidfan Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 strategy games still thinking they can completely forgo realism. tsk tsk tsk. and i was actually starting to like it. Too true. HiJack Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 This game is aparently taken by a bunch of hackers that is ruining everything. Check game forum
EtherealN Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) This game is aparently taken by a bunch of hackers that is ruining everything. Check game forum I checked and I don't see anything like that. Care to elaborate? What does exist is a "trainer" for SP that looks like it works in MP as well, but doesn't. The "trainer" spawns extra units etcetera for you. Thing is, in MP things are synced between the players and server, so the cheater will see all his extra units - but the server and opponent(s) won't, after which he spends his time giving orders to imaginary armies... :) Edited March 3, 2012 by EtherealN [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
cichlidfan Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I did see some mention of cheating, spamming units the player could not have afforded, but it did not sound like a game breaker. EtherealN Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Yes cichlidfan, that's the "cheat" I mentioned. Those units only exist for the player that uses the "trainer", afaik. He gains no advantage from them. The opposite, in fact. bartleby Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Been enjoying this one as well. Certainly feels more simmy than WiC (which was fun). Haven't done much MP, though. DCS Wiki! :book:

Ali Fish Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) This game is aparently taken by a bunch of hackers that is ruining everything. Check game forum wrong, im very active over there and it really is not a problem. and for every cheater there is a replay upload function together with required details of player name and you can post it to a name and shame thread. It did work to cheat online untill the devs issued a super quick fix for it recently. why is it not a problem ? The cheaters and/or usage of the trainer to unlock units "quicker" can not defeat a decent armchair general. Throw 100 cheap tanks at anyone who knows how to play and as long as they identify the situation the cheater will loose in minuites. winning points are comprised of the spend points that the enemy unit cost. for example. cheating enemy puts 6000 points worth of units down on the map. with a 2000 point game settings and you have 3 times the chance of winning, by taking out 1/3 of his army. you are not cheating so you only got 2000 points of units. enemy would have to kill your whole army 100% to win/draw. sometimes spending less than your enemy is an advantage.( as long as you can keep that command veh alive) who da thought that? HiJack Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 It did work to cheat online untill the devs issued a super quick fix for it recently. Ok that was quick fixed. I thought the game used the Steam VAC global ban?
Ali Fish Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) From what i read recently and im sure it was a developer comment, They explained that the exploit has to be known before steam VAC can identify it and a ban would take 2 weeks. Edited March 4, 2012 by Ali Fish [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
