Installation issue still existing: DCS BlackShark must be installed

Hello again,

 

I really don´t know whats up here. I thought the corrupt Installer of the former Installation package has been fixed?

 

I always recieve this annoying Errormessage:

 

DCS BlackShark must be installed

 

What are my system Specs?

detailed in my sig

 

to make it short:

Win7 64Bit Home Premium

8GB DDR3 Ram

AMD Phenom 2 X6 CPU

 

Which Game Version do I have purchased?

 

I have purchased BS2 1.1.1.1 upgrade

 

 

Which Game Version have I downloaded

 

 

I have downloaded the Installer for the Upgrade

 

 

 

What have I done so far?

 

• I am always installing and executing as Administrator (rightclick and so on...)
  
• I installed BlackShark 1.0 on a clean and new installed Windows, so no corrupt regestry entries or somethings.
  
• I installed the english version of Black Shark
  
• I also installed BlackShark 1 under the Default given Path as well (C:\...)....no change
  
• First I have NOT patched the 1.0 up to the latest BS1 patches, later I patched the Game and uninstalled the patches again...no change
  
• I have entered the Game and activated BS1.0. I have been sitting in the Cockpit (no flying, engines were off).
  
• I wanted to install the DCS: Black Shark 2 Upgrade 1.1.1.1 (English download version) but it wont let me. All I get is this errormesaage
  
• I downloaded the latest Software versions yesterday and today
  

 

So please, why is that such a terrible thing just to install this product? I really dont understand this and friendly ask for help in this matter.

EDIT:

I installed 1.01 and 1.02, went ingame and uninstalled them again. That was the way it has worked when I was installing this the last time. But it seems not to be working anymore.

:cry::cry: I thought that downloading and Installing the english Black Shark would fix that issue...but it doesnt. Well it does last Year. But it wont right now.

This installer is still not working!!

 

So now I ran out of Ideas...only thing I can do is purchasing the Full version. But I wont do that, because I already purchased that product.

Considering all the things I´ve done already I really need some help here.

Yes, I downloaded the respective Software yesterday again. I also downloaded the english BS1 version today morning --> nothings helped

(I´ve added that to my list, thanks for mentioning)

 

Now I am trying to install the Patches again, and all that stuff like renaming the directory, uninstalling the patches again and so on. Once this wont work I head on directly to the Dev team, because I realy dont know what else to do...sorry to say this but this is so much ridiculous.

The funny thing is that, once when the former problem took place (right after release), so I fixed that issue just by downloading the english Black Shark Installer. I installed english Black Shark and then I was able to install Black Shark 2.

This is no more working anymore and I need someone to explain me why it is no more possible.

 

Does this somethings has to do with the new Installer which is up tp the latest 1.1.1.1 Patch?

Installation to default path (Program Files) is not advised - have you tried installing to a folder on your C: drive (C:\Flight Simulations)?

 

 

I would advise that you uninstall, manually delete all leftover folders, cleat the registry of all relevant BS entries, reboot and reinstall to a path other than default.

According to my different installation languages, that was just a hint that I´ve tried both Versions. German and english version. Of course not together ;). Seperately and right after cleaning the Temp files and the regestry.

 

Secondly according to your advice to install into a different path. That´s what I actually usualy always do. C is for Windows only. I just tried the default path to give it a try.

So far still no luck.

OK, guys at this point I will give this away to the developers. But honestly I dont know what they can do about that. This is my regestry screenshot. as it says, Black Shark (english Version) is installed properly, why wont it be recognized by Black Shark 2?

I hope the devs do have an answer on this.

What worked for me is installing the BS2 upgrade into the Black shark folder.

so, it looks something like this but for whatever directory you choose

(c:flighsims\black shark\black shark2) So, all of my game files are IN the black shark 1 folder.

I´d do that, if I´d get to the part where I can choose the Installationpath. But it even wont let me do that. So far I rightclick on the setup file and hit run as administrator, or even doubleclick, the message that DCS Black Shark must be installed, appears.

I put this into a ticket and the support adviced me to do this one, the funny thing is...even this is not working.

And I did exactly as me mentioned. So I start to believe that this issue must be on my side. But I dont know what it could be.

 

1. Please Uninstall BS1;

2. Delete this Windows registry branch:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\Black Shark

 

How to do it:

- Run Windows Start menu and type there "regedit" (without quotes);

- Follow this path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics

- RightClick on the "Black Shark" folder -> Delete

Then please run BS1 and activate it with BS1 serial number. It will eat one of activations but don't worry, actually the activations are of little importance. We do replace serial numbers for the legal owners. When the limit of activations of your serial number will be reached, please consider contacting us for getting a new serial number. We will consider your request and give it to you.

 

3. Install BS1 again;

4. When it is installed, run BS1 and turn in to any mission. There will be activation window. Enter serial number of BS1 and activate it. Wait until cockpit is displayed.

5. Exit from BS1 and start BS2 Upgrade installer.

Please do these steps exactly as written. This should help to solve the problem.

OK guys, as it seems I´ve got my issue fixed. At this point I want to give a huge thanks to destby from the ED support team. He patiently adviced me certain things. The last thing has helped.

 

This is how I´ve done that now.

 

(considering that the issue is persisting)

 

• uninstall BS1
  
• delete regestry key as described here
  
• ***if you´re using a non Administrator account, so change to the Account with Administrator rights***
  
• install BS1 again in a different directory from the former one
  
• go ingame and activate the Game (fly a little around, just to make sure that you´ve really been in the Game
  
• run setup file from the upgrade, by using "run as admin".
  

 

This is how it worked for me
