Tailgate
I try to hold the flare no more than 10 degrees nose high, over 10 it wants to tail drag.
Ells228
Along with the great comments from the guys here, here is a public video by 74th_Tyger which explains a good technique for landing, and pattern approach which we use in the 74th. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbMBBYCIqvQ&feature=player_embedded I have perfect touchdown's every time using these methods, obviously with adjustments for the loads and fuel I have. Even on crosswind, wet and snowy landings this technique works (just don't use the wheels brakes as much as they like to skid in the wet/ice lol) Hope it helps, C. SimFreak
Why not practice overhead approach? It's simpler...much simpler and used in real life.... Edited March 15, 2012 by SimFreak
159th_Viper
Why not practice overhead approach? ... Exactly. effte
I've noticed on some of my landings that if I had a nose very high flare the plane almost feels like it want's to tip over backward after touchdown. Are you using the speed brakes? I found out while doing some other testing that the aircraft is very wheelie-prone unless you have the air brakes open. Probably Not Quite Right, but no biggie IMO.
