Kevlon Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 its not even sure it will come out in March.... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
britgliderpilot Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I would view March 2006 as an extremely optimistic release date. Try Christmas 2006 at the earliest. Hey, if it comes out earlier than that then we can be pleasantly surprised, right? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Weta43 Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 That's alright - it'll just give you a chance to get used to new gameplay caused by the changes from the patch for 1.1 (assuming they get it out before 1.2 is released ) Cheers.
Prophet_169th Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 You know, they could have been allocating more resources than we think, and March is a close date =)
Chicote Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 You know, they could have been allocating more resources than we think, and March is a close date =) Might explain why the patch has gone to Never Never land.
Force_Feedback Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Just say it's 2007, then everybody can only be surprised Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
S77th-GOYA Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Just say it's 2007, then everybody can only be surprised Not if it comes out in 2007.
Kevlon Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 well, we can be suprised that it took that loooooong... :p [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 i mean thare just puting a helo in the game They are doing more than just adding in the Ka-50. It will also fix a lot of bugs and they might have to rework the terrain so it will look better when the helo is close to the ground. This is the same feeling others felt about FC. People felt like they were just adding in the Su-25T but they actually improved on a variety of things and fixed bugs. And don't expect it to come out March next year, it will probably come out december 2006. Personally, they can take as long as they want as long as they come out with a kick a$s product because 1.2 will be the last of the lock on series. Then move onto tank hunters or the F-16. So hopefully they will rework some of the old flyable models in 1.2. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Alfa Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Might explain why the patch has gone to Never Never land. Give it a rest will you? - we are currently testing the fifth beta version of the V1.11 patch, so it is not like ED has been sleeping and done nothing about it. Every time you start fiddling with the code to fix a problem, there is the inherent danger that you may unintentionally mess up something else that worked fine before - for this reason each new build needs to be tested thorougly and feedback collected before work on the next can begin. After all we are talking about a patch, which is supposed to fix problems with the initial V1.1 release......not replace those problems with new ones. I am sure everyone agrees that the last thing we need is a buggy patch  Cheers, - JJ. JJ

"just putting a helo in the game"? I think you may have to re-think your perception of what it takes to make a flyable aircraft - especially when this involves an advanced flight model(AFM) for an aircraft type that has such radically different flight dynamics to anything currently flyable in the sim. Add to that a cockpit with "clickable" switches and a new level of 3D realisation to support free head movement with Track-IR vector expansion software.....just to mention a couple of the more "heavy" aspects of develpment :) Cheers, - JJ. SUBS17 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Do you guys have more than 1 Beta testing team, 1 team for 1.11 and 1 team for 1.2? [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]

I know you guys are trying to build a good patch(V1.11) but after so many months of waiting, and beta after beta testing with no end in sight frustration begin to set in. So I think I will take a break from this sim for a couple of months keep up the good work. Spoiler: MSI Z790 Carbon WIFI, i9 14900KF, 64GB DDR4, MSI RTX 4090, VKB STECS Mk ll throttle, VKB Gunfighter Ultimate MCG Pro w/200mm Extension, Winwing Orion Rudder Pedals W/damper, Wingwin Monitors/MFD's, UTC MK II Pro, Virpil TCS Plus Collective, MSI 34" QD-OLED @240Hz monitor, Samsung 970 Pro M2 2TB (for DCS), Playseat Air Force Seat, KW-980 Jetseat, Vaicom Pro, Tek Creations panels and controllers.
SuperKungFu Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Well said Alfa. Btw...do you think if ED will rework the old flyable models like the Su-27/33 in a patch or 1.2. Because if you guys do, i'll be more than happy to pay over $100 for that *hint* *hint* (yes i like the flanker family that much). So if you have a great influence over the ED team, please patch the word through to them. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Alfa Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Do you guys have more than 1 Beta testing team, 1 team for 1.11 and 1 team for 1.2? No there is only one beta team, but then V1.2 is still in alpha stage - meaning that we have seen less of this than the people who visited MAKS-2005 ;) Or to be more specific - we are only testing the beta patch and know no more about V1.2 than you do :) Cheers, - JJ. JJ

Ay mate - no one is more keen on Su-27 and Su-33 upgrades than I, but no I dont think we can expect to see any major upgrades to existing flyables in V1.2(and certainly not in a patch). I dont know what exactly you meant by reworking them, but a new high fidelity 3D model alone could take 2-3 month to build and integrate into the simulation....so I am afraid it is outside the scope of the 1.2 add-on :icon_frow . Hehe I am afraid my "influence over ED" doesnt amount to much - if it did we would all be flying the MiG-29K by now.... Cheers, - JJ. JJ

Im sher it would take you a long time to do all that stuff. but just doing the stuff your talking about should not take that long unless you are doing this whith like 3 people. :) do not run fly!

The frustration is lack of updates which we only get through you guys when we don't let it rest. A reasonable amount of communication would get us talking about the game again instead of all these starforce and patch delay gripes. Given how long this patch has taken surely there are some features/enhancements or even at a push amusing anecdotes ED can release to keep us going.
britgliderpilot Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 but just doing the stuff your talking about should not take that long unless you are doing this whith like 3 people. :) You say this from your great depth of knowledge on software development? ;) Well you're only out by a factor of ten, at least :) And it's Alfa's birthday? Quick . . . . someone sneak in a cake! See if we can get Ruggbutt to hide a stripper in it, he's supposed to be good at that stuff :p http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
bSr.LCsta Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 See if we can get Ruggbutt to hide a stripper in it, he's supposed to be good at that stuff :p Not exactly........Last cake we had, Rugg popped out himself in a American flag g-string bikini, singing "Happy birthday Mr. President." We lost several members that day :P is this ok?
