What's wrong with 1975 ;)

You run LOMAC on a 1975 computer and THEN come back and ask that ;)

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Do you needs some manuals for the F-15's navigation?

Could't you say something about the manuals?

I don't have them. It was only a question. Do you lack information regarding the F-15's navigation?

If ED is in need of information, you could list what you are lacking and someone in the community might be able to supply your needs.

Also, you might list which manuals you already have so noone duplicates what is already known.

Sorry for the confusion.

It is good idea to make sticky message about needed equipment manuals. May be I will make such list.

Regarding to F-15A/C. Well we have operation descriptions for two variants - with AN/ASN-109 INS and with ring-laser gyros (I don't know it's military designation. Company designation is LN-94 if I am not wrong). Both are from dash-1.

Olgerd, I wouldn`t worry about the inner workings of a specific INS model.

We could probably live without things like initial line-up or updates, etc.

What I would love to have is 4 basic navigation modes on F15's HSI, ADI and

HUD. These modes are:

(1) NAV (data mostly from INS)

(2)TACAN - data from radio nav like TACAN/VORTAC (you can just limit these to airbases, increasing each beacon`s range to around 200km)

(3)NAV/ILS - approach based on INS and radio nav

(4)TACAN/ILS - approach based only on radio nav

Any basic F15 manual has to contain info on these modes.

Anybody familiar with civilian aviation could easily operate these modes w/o any training.

BTW. These modes work the same way on F16's (all blocks) and they do

work in Falcon4 :) although some symbology is slightly different.

We are doing it for any of our new or updated aircrafts/helicopters. You will like our nav system implementation in Ka-50. If we will start complete redesign of F-15C avionics (I beleive we will do it once) you will get all you mentioned above and startup/preflight procedures for nav systems as well.

That is good news and would be much appreciated.

Just one question: When? ;) ;)

I do not know. Really. :)

You have many chances to get completely new A-10A after 1.2.

Olgerd, Olly dear, will you marry me? :icon_weed

LOL. Not me. I am just avionics programmer. Not more, not less (I hope).

That are good news, seems like your 'Tank Killers' plans are taking shape. Is the AH-64 still high on the list ?

I just hope that a complex and realistic FAC-CAS envoirement ( extensive comms, real world tactics, inflightmap as planing tool etc.; you know the stuff ) is part of the deal, as FAC-CAS is the very essence of the A-10 and just as important as AFM and advanced avionics. You are avionics programmer Olgerd, best is you try to convince Igor Tishin or Chizh that a FACs are part of the A-10's avionc suite :)

My advice, try to hire SimHQ's Andy Bush as advisor. He flew FAC-CAS in F-4s over Vietnam, trained it in Phantoms and Hogs over Europe and even helped to develope the USAF's A-10 employment doctrine for the cold war tank hunting. If there is someone who knows how to do the A-10 justice in a sim, then it must be him.

Ok, this was my monthly comment on my pet subject, you will be spared of it until next month :) Thank you for keeping us informed Olgerd !
