Plans for the P-51B?

Hey guys,

 

Having a look around the model viewer, there appears to be a very nice P-51B, although it lacks textures and a pilot model. Are there any plans to complete this model? It looks fantastic and would, on a very selfish note, be very useful for VH as it would allow us to fly the best looking Horsemen line up.

 

Please do not take this as a "I want more!" post, I was just wondering if there were any future plans for the B model or has it been discontinued?

Surely it wouldn't take much to put the P-51D cockpit in the P-51B model?

Yes, far more complicated than that and if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right ;) If ED don't have the time, that's fair enough, they've already given us this staggering P-51D, if they do get around to it, then great!

You could contact the VBA and get some tips because they seem to have placed the P-51D cockpit into an F8F model relatively well.

probably find they've replaced the P-51D model ;) VH would requite both the 51D and the 51B in game...

The bearcat has a bubble canopy too, so easier to stick the 51D canopy on it than it would for the 51B.

The B had a weaker supercharger compared to the D turbosupercharger. Brix were shat.

But the B was actually a few mph faster ;)

B had both -7 and -3 engines. The -3 has MORE POWERFUL blower than -7 D model was equipped with. So the low altitude performance of B with -3 was worse than of B with -7 (and D).
