where to download DCS World?

Sorry if I'm just being stupid, or ignorant (or both:)), where do you download DCS World from?

 

Right now I have BS1, BS2, A10 plus LOFC2 and will only get P51 when it is no longer beta. I read in another thread I will need DCSW for the next patches of BS and A10, is that right?

So I guess I can just download and install the DCSW files, and leave the P51 beta install for now

DCS World IS standalone. ;)

It is P-51D that is the addon. :)

 

Correct though, installation of P-51D is not required - indeed, you can just abstain from downloading it. The only "ill effect" from this would be that you would be unable to fly the P-51. :D

Hi all,

 

This is not a moan - just my experience. I think what you guys (and girls) are doing for the flight sim market is brilliant.

 

And just to say Iv'e been away from BS and A10 for a good number of months and tried to catch up a bit this weekend.

 

Firstly - exactly which files to download and their location is not very clear imo for DCS world or the BS and A10 modules.

 

Secondly - the download fall out rate is really annoying!

 

Finally - a really, really basic guide to which downloads to do in which order would be really useful.

 

Finally got DCS world downloaded but DX install crashes....error message says d3dx9_43.dll is missing from my system....any ideas?

Got my dx issue sorted with a download of directx online.

 

DCS World working now - installed the a10 module but activation crashes.

 

I assumed the code was my full A10c one?

 

I will try another couple of times before sending the error log just in case my internet connection was flakey (would explain my download drop outs too so could be the cause)

 

After my DCS world and A10 module my docs folder is empty of any manuals - is this correct?

Are you looking in the relevant Module directory as opposed to the main directory, ie DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/A-10C/Doc folder?

I can't find a GUI or Mission Editor manual for DCS:World. Is there one yet?

The GUI mission editor manual was included in the installs for BS2 and A10c but if you only have the P51 in the meantime you can download the DCS A10c GUI manual from here

Its the same mission editor for all DCS aircraft

If I download DCS world 1.1.2.1 via http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=18&end_pos=135&lang=en and get the P51

 

Then download the A10c module from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=135&lang=en (bottom of the page)

 

Uninstall my A10C and install the above two

 

Will I have to download another 5GB when it comes out of beta or will I just get a patch?

Official release versions are usually a full release as opposed to a patch. That said, too early to tell at this stage.
