Ratfink Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Sorry if I'm just being stupid, or ignorant (or both:)), where do you download DCS World from? Right now I have BS1, BS2, A10 plus LOFC2 and will only get P51 when it is no longer beta. I read in another thread I will need DCSW for the next patches of BS and A10, is that right? Ratfink Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Thanks for the link, I was looking for standalone - d'oh  So I guess I can just download and install the DCSW files, and leave the P51 beta install for now CORSAIR 5000D AIRFLOW Mid Tower | AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D | G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo EXPO RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 PC5-48000C30 6000MHz | ASUS ROG X870E-E GAMING WIFI | Gigabyte RTX5080 Gaming OC 16GB | 4TB Lexar NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0 | Seasonic Prime TX-1000 1000W 80 Plus Titanium Modular Power Supply | Lian Li Galahad II Trinity AIO 360mm | Meta Quest Pro | TM HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals | Win 11 Home | Asus PG348Q 34" 3440x1440 Monitor | Bose Companion 3 2.1 Sound
EtherealN Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 DCS World IS standalone. ;) It is P-51D that is the addon. :) Correct though, installation of P-51D is not required - indeed, you can just abstain from downloading it. The only "ill effect" from this would be that you would be unable to fly the P-51. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

Gary Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Hi all, This is not a moan - just my experience. I think what you guys (and girls) are doing for the flight sim market is brilliant. And just to say Iv'e been away from BS and A10 for a good number of months and tried to catch up a bit this weekend. Firstly - exactly which files to download and their location is not very clear imo for DCS world or the BS and A10 modules. Secondly - the download fall out rate is really annoying! Finally - a really, really basic guide to which downloads to do in which order would be really useful. Finally got DCS world downloaded but DX install crashes....error message says d3dx9_43.dll is missing from my system....any ideas? Many thanks again regards, Gary I5 - 1TB SSHD, 256 SSD - Nvidia 1070 - 16gb ram - CV1
Gary Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Got my dx issue sorted with a download of directx online. DCS World working now - installed the a10 module but activation crashes. I assumed the code was my full A10c one? I will try another couple of times before sending the error log just in case my internet connection was flakey (would explain my download drop outs too so could be the cause) After my DCS world and A10 module my docs folder is empty of any manuals - is this correct? Thanks again for great products I5 - 1TB SSHD, 256 SSD - Nvidia 1070 - 16gb ram - CV1
159th_Viper Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 After my DCS world and A10 module my docs folder is empty of any manuals - is this correct? No. Are you looking in the relevant Module directory as opposed to the main directory, ie DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/A-10C/Doc folder? Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Gary Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Thank you for the quick response, as ever - yes they are there. I5 - 1TB SSHD, 256 SSD - Nvidia 1070 - 16gb ram - CV1
Teeps Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 No. Are you looking in the relevant Module directory as opposed to the main directory, ie DCS World/Mods/aircrafts/A-10C/Doc folder? I can't find a GUI or Mission Editor manual for DCS:World. Is there one yet? Win10 x64, 16 GB RAM, Ryzen 5 1600X @3.60 GHz, 500 GB SSD, GeForce 1080 Ti
Druid_ Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I can't find a GUI or Mission Editor manual for DCS:World. Is there one yet? The GUI mission editor manual was included in the installs for BS2 and A10c but if you only have the P51 in the meantime you can download the DCS A10c GUI manual from here http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/ Its the same mission editor for all DCS aircraft i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
jason_peters Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 If I download DCS world 1.1.2.1 via http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=18&end_pos=135&lang=en and get the P51 Then download the A10c module from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=135&lang=en (bottom of the page) Uninstall my A10C and install the above two Will I have to download another 5GB when it comes out of beta or will I just get a patch? --------- System: i7-8700k @ 4.9GHz; Nvidia RTX 2080ti; 32GB (2 x 16) DDR4 @ 3333Mz Ram; ASUS ROG Strix z370-E; SSD Drive; Oculus Rift-S; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog
159th_Viper Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Will I have to download another 5GB when it comes out of beta or will I just get a patch? Official release versions are usually a full release as opposed to a patch. That said, too early to tell at this stage. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career?
