Chris712 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hello. I noticed on the video tutorials for start up procedures that after initiating the battery power followed by the inverter stdy the aircraft did not commence warning. However, as instructed by the tutotial, when I turn on the inverter stdy switch after the battery power switch the aircraft instantly begins to give me warning (beep beep beep beep beep X infinity.) I see on the panel it says L+R ENG OIL PRESS flashing. This does not go away until after the left and right engines are stable and I disable APU power. Can anyone help me with this? :helpsmilie:
Nu-NRG Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) AFAIK that is as is in real life. 1. Oil pressure is low because oil pumps are driven by engines. So you either silence master caution or it's gona go off once both engines are up and running. 2.Yes, APU generator warning will go off the moment left or right generator takes over. You can at that time switch off APU generator. Edited June 19, 2012 by Nu-NRG 1 Aviate - Navigate - Communicate
shagrat Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 change startup procedure and check list to: 1st Inverter to STDBY 2nd Battery to ON 3rd APU on etc. That won't cause the Master Caution alert. I guess it is caused by the "sensor" for the Oil pump not getting electric current without the inverter switched on. Without the signal from the sensor it seems to trigger the "Master Caution", because no info is bad info :D Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)

Buckram Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 As Shagrat said, adjusting your start up procedure ever so slightly works to not receive that alarm on start up. Chris712 Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 @shagrat Thank you, that fixed the issue. However, now when the left engine stabilizes the Master Caution goes off yet again only this time the APU GEN is flashing.
=Panther= Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Simple solution is to press the Master Caution Reset. Means it is time to switch APU GEN to OFF, because the turbine's generator is running and provides power now...
