mastiff - please recheck with some track that shows the flicker with 1.2.2 on version 1.2.1

This is strange.

I changed no setting that is related to the appearance of the sun from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 .

I only reduced the water-reflection.

So you must have had the flicker even with 1.2.1 - but never used a FOV settings that triggered it.

It seams there is no difference, all folders produced the same results. I have recorded a video off each test but find no point in publish it as the flickering is the same. Any other ideas? :)

Test results:

-----------

Result using sun flicker test 1 folder 2 and individual test with folders from sun flicker test 2-2.

Folder 2: No visual flickering.

Folder 3: No visual flickering.

Folder 4: Clear and visual flickering.

No, that's it!

I did merged 1/6 and 2-2/3 and adjusted the HDR setting.

And here is a preview:

HiJack, Mastiff and all that have similar problems - please test the last time and when I get a OK from you I will add the attached version to the mod.

I find the flickering is caused, because of the point of view changes I have made. I pushed my view closer to the hud by 10 so instead of 120, I set it at 115 for KA50, and SU25T 110. I move my slider view and I can get the flickering to stop so it looks as though it's dependent on the size and view of the resolution? :joystick:

Mastiff: If you have the saitek X52 you should test using the keyboard only when testing the flickering! The X52 is a flickering story of it self :(

Thanks to Peter, I'll test asap.

Can you check the suppiled file because it includes quite a few more files!

The floder "PostMotionEffect" includes several more folders and files than the ones used during testing and any of the other mod versions. Can you please explain?

Hi;

I think I found a bug. Doing some tests (Only in MP) it became clear, was caused by the file "lake.fx" hosted in the directory:\Bazar\shaders\terrain.

For example, a small lake that should be near the base of Sukhumi, the images show the difference:

lake.fx Default

lake.fx Modified in Realistic Sun Pack v1.2.3

Looks swampy...which you would rather expect with the hotter unrealistic sun :-p

Probably related to the reduced amount of reflection...if caused by the mod at all bc if so wouldn't it also affect the coast?

+1 :megalol: Exacly, The Ultraviolets Rays from the ancient apocalyptic Sun remain there!!

Obviously is the lake.fx file modified, I have the sun Realistic Mod working with the default lake.fx without problems ..

Nop, the coast seems fine... I suppose lake.fx only affect lakes

makes sense...that the ocean is not controlled by the lake.fx :)

my bad

I could imagine you have hotter reflections on the lakes than on the ocean now though...just guessing

Open the lake.fx with Notepad++ and look for line 244

DepthBias = 0.1000000e-005;

delete that line and save - reason behind this problem is the file PeterP is using is most likely outdated, that line was the cause of these disappearing lakes so i removed it later on (mentioned here a few weeks ago http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1525721&postcount=15 )

Hi mustang,

Lets compose together a version that includes all your shader fixes - so no one has to fear to brake something if he didn't installed one of your fixes after the sun mod or vice versa.

I will add

Overcast fix v3

z-fighting fixes

Are there more things you would like to see in it?
