Is HD6950 or HD6970 too slow for you. I mean if you just "downgrade". At least my Asus DCII card has support for 6 displays. 11.6 version drivers work best with DCS A-10C, by the way.

There are some 7970-related threads, for example:

Maybe some of those guys use Helios as well?

If I were to try an older GPU, I would want to go with a 5970 sense it out performs the 6970. Sadly I can't find a 5970 eyefinity 6 for less than $1000, but I can find a 6970 DCII for $240. In retrospect though, I'd rather not try an older GPU, but rather find a solution to my problem with my current setup. If buying an older GPU fixes the issue, then really nothing has been fixed.

I finally made contact with someone on gadroc's website that is using the same card and says he has had no issues with it and using Helios, but thats all I know. Havent heard back from him and Gadroc is still AWOL.

I think I'm going to give up for now and just run it like this. 6 monitors actually gets better performance then 3 with Helios running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTZKCzRPdzQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Dude, you have some sort of hardware issue! I would ebay off the ati and buy a gtx card! You also could have a bad motherboard etc... Many people use Helios no problem with fps. I run a 5870x6 with 4 monitors without any problem.

@Flim....my system is stable, I can run any game with no issues for as long as I want at full settings. I have run Prime95, Memtest86+, and OCCT all with flying colors with no issues. This issue is only related to Helios. I only get "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered, Event 4101" when Helios is running. It doesn't matter what I fly, DCS World A-10C, Black Shark 2, or BMS 4.32. They all perform flawlessly without Helios running. But all crash if Helios is running.

@JG14_Smil....Yes I have Aero Desktop enabled and I changed SoftTH config file to ensure it stays running.

Here is a advise for further troubleshooting/debugging:

Run DCS+Helios (and SoftTh when you like) but this time run a test-track - where you are sure that it will crash after a certain time period - and run this tack again and again but switch a export-device off each time until you cycled through all of your exports.

Maybe there is a bug - and only one Helios export is broken (or a combination of them)...

Well I know how time consuming this can be... - but this is what " debuggin' " is in the first place :

a time-vampire :)

Helios doesn't do anything fancy with graphics APIs at all. I use native WPF (Microsofts latest graphics toolkit for C#) rendering components completely. I can only guess that the load from DCS and Helios is triggering a bug in the video drivers.

@PeterP....I'll just go ahead and file for divorce while i'm at it. I wish I had the time to take on such a project. The other thing is, the crash is completely random, running a test track would be useless. I have tried enabling just 2 monitors and just 1 monitor to run Helios. I think I almost got an hour out of 1 monitor running Loz's profile before it crashed. So if there is a bug, it would be in there...i guess.

I can't say for sure yet, but it looks like ati drives 12.8 might have fixed my problem. Still testing but after a little over an hour of flight no crash yet.

First - allow me to apologize for raising this from the dead but I'm a new DCS A-10 flier and I'm having issues with the sim self-minimizing mid-flight.

Unlike StageFright, I'm running a single monitor while in flight. I have a second, but it's shut off prior to launching the sim. Like StageFright, I'm on an ATI 7970 card and am using the 13.4 driver set.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Disregard - I located my problem. In my case, I had an application not related to DCS that was silently crashing. Each time it did it caused Windows to steal focus from DCS. I identified the issue by reviewing the Windows Application Event Log.

Hope this might help someone else who runs into a similar problem.
