Praetorx
When I flip the inverter switch the master caution goes off. Whilst this isn't much of a problem I haven't seen any videos where that happens to other people. I simply go Battery -> Inverter and then master caution starts ringing through the cockpit. Freelance044
The engine lights go off. I just hit the master caution and resume the prep, it stops after I start the engines to idle.

dburne
Well I have gone through the startup training about 4 times now, there is a switch when I flip it the master caution goes off and I just silence it - I think if left on it goes off on it's own in a few moments. I don't recall which one it is, in fact may be the inverter switch, I will try to take notice next time I go through the procedure. Echo38
Mine doesn't. If everything is completely powered down, and I turn on the battery switch and then the inverter, there is no caution light or alarm. I'm using the latest version with World. Slap_Chop
Try Flipping the Inverter switch on before you Flip the battery switch on. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
BigfootMSR
(Directed at OP) It sounds like the OP is using an older version of the game. This issue has been fixed in world. (Directed to d.burnette) you are probably hitting the apu generator switch before the apu is fully spooled up. That does cause the master caution light to come on. you did mention that it goes off after a few moments on its own, which sounds to me like the APU gen kicking in once the APU is at full power. To prevent this, watch the APU gauge on the instrument panel and listen for the change in the APU sound when it hits full power. Then turn on the APU generator switch. freelance, make sure you don't turn on the left/right ac generators before the engines are powered. The caution light will turn on when you switch from the apu generator to the left/right AC gens. Start up: 1. Battery switch to on 2. All 4 fuel boost pumps 3. APU start to on (located by the throttles) 4. ***IMPORTANT*** Let APU completely spool up and listen for sound change 5. Turn on APU Generator 6. Turn on Inverter switch 7. Move left throttle to idle to start the engine and wait till the engine cycle light goes out. 8. Repeat for right throttle/engine 9. Turn on left/right AC gennies NOTE *Master caution will sound* 10. Turn off APU Gen NOTE *Master caution will stop alerting* 11. Turn off APU start switch (by throttles) Edited August 16, 2012 by BigfootMSR Updated info. Freelance044
I start from the ramp and the first two things I do is flip the battery and the inverter, in which the master caution turns on. It's my engines apparently, but there's no error that I see during flight so it's just an annoyance for all I know.

BigfootMSR
freelance, what version are you using? The standalone? If so, then yes, you will get the error when turning on the battery switch and then the inverter. This has been fixed in the world release 1.2.0. elcid
I run A-10 1.20 for DCS World and I also noticed this. I just turn on the inverter switch before the battery. I find it just an annoyance, although I don't know if there is actually anythng wrong.
BigfootMSR
elcid, I can not reproduce your error in 1.2.0. I would suggest writing down the step by step I wrote earlier in this thread. I can only assume that you are hitting the APU generator switch and not the inverter switch. I tried hitting the inverter switch before the battery switch and also the inverter switch after the battery switch. Neither one cause the MCL to go off. Either way, if you are getting the MCL to go off during your startup sequence, its due to do doing the start up out of sequence in 1.2.0. elcid
Bigfoot, I initially started with the battery switch and the 2nd switch I turned on was the inverter. That would set off the Master Caution. To stop this from happening, I simply started with the inverter switch and the battery switch next. When I get back home, I'll check and make sure of the version cause I run both DCS A-10 1.1.1.1 and DCS World 1.2.0 on my laptop and could have gotten the versions mixed up. Snoopy
1.1.1.1. you will get the master caution if starting correctly (battery then inverter). I verified in World (1.2.0) you no longer get this warning which is the correct way the aircraft works. Check out the 476th vFG A-10C Aircrew Checklist, it's developed using the real world A-10 start up checklist, maybe that will help. http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=29 v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website | v303rd Fighter Group Twitter
