marcos Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 Okay sorry, not enough detail. I'd just completed the ABRIS AMMS training session and I'd took off to fly about a bit. I'd been taking out moving vehicles from 2km with HE rounds from the 2A42 quite easily. I switch to AP and they all fell short, even when I moved inside 1.5km. They finally hit inside 1km. It was a training mission so the track wasn't saveable.
159th_Viper Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 If one encounters a problem/issue, the very first thing that you MUST do is to ensure that you can replicate the issue. In doing so, we would advise/request that you build and run a very simple mission with as few units as possible and attempt to replicate. If so, save track and upload. Doing the above will ensure that it is not just a once-off glitch and you'll have a short track to upload, thereby saving us testers a helluva lot of time which we would sincerely appreciate :) Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? marcos Posted September 7, 2012 Author Posted September 7, 2012 Well I tried to replicate but couldn't, so may be one-off glitch.
TurboHog Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 I don't recognize the problem. In fact I started using AP more since world against lightly armoured vehicles. 'Frett'
marcos Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 aka human error. Well no. I had successfully hit over a dozen targets with HE rounds in the same session before switching to AP. So there was no error on my part but it does appear to have been a one-off, possibly due to the fact the training missions have been added as a bit of an after-though. Not to worry.

Are you talking about more dispersion? Or did the AP rounds fell short or something? Check the range before firing as it sometimes drops by 200m for no reason... 'Frett'

Check the range before firing as it sometimes drops by 200m for no reason... Hmmm. I didn't check the range but I'd been shooting HE from 2.5km to 2km as I slowly moved closer. I then switched to AP and they all fell well short, possibly by about 200m like you say. I could see them landing and couldn't figure it out. I moved in to 1.5km and same problem. I finally managed to hit the target inside 1km. It just seemed to be calculating the range wrong at the time. No problems since though.

Refresh the range before firing and check for sudden jumps in range. 'Frett'
marcos Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Refresh the range before firing and check for sudden jumps in range. How do you refresh range except by locking a new target?
Yurgon Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 How do you refresh range except by locking a new target? Either that or simply re-lock the current target. No other way to refresh the range AFAIK.
marcos Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Either that or simply re-lock the current target. No other way to refresh the range AFAIK. None AFAIK either. I tried re-locking several times just through instinct but to no effect.
