This is how the WAH-64D Apache Collective looks so far. This won't be part of the Multi-Grip range due to the shear number of buttons, triggers and HAT switches it has. It's going to need a custom control board making for it.

Cowboy already put it pretty well but I'll say again that the pedals fit perfectly the gap that I've been staring at. Saitek pedals are flimsy, plastic and hard to service. I really would appreciate advice on proper lubrication to use with Saitek pedals before I know if I'll buy Komodo pedals.

Komodo pedals cost around 300 € for me while the next "bests" pedals would be over 600 € easily! They look robust, good quality and easy to service, lubricate and even disassemble if needed. Let alone all rest of the complete setup!

And Rich, I don't know if you knew about the DCS: Huey before your first message but you found the crack spot on! I'll be drooling for the pedals for that aircraft for sure and hopefully will eventually be able to get proper helicopter controls in my living room!

Question;

Do your helicopter pedals differ from aircraft pedals to such extent that it would feel weird to control fixed wings with them? Meaning different damping and centering system.

Or would a fixed wing pilot find it indifferent?

I know Saitek pedals aren't that realistic either.

To be honest, while I would fly Ka-50 the most, I would not buy Ka-50 grips because I think the HOTAS design is failed, uncomfortable and I would rather get a grip with more buttons and assign them how I want. This has clearly been adressed in Ka-52.

Hi Griffin,

Thanks for the great comments. Nope knew nothing about the Huey before I came on here. All the controls were initially designed for FSX and the DodoSim 206, but always wanted to open up the market as much as possible and cover as many helicopters as possible. New ways in making the parts and my learning curve, along with my experience from my normal day job as a helicopter pilot, has allowed us to start producing the products we now making.

The pedals themselves shouldn't really need any servicing. All the bearings are designed to be used on much more high intensity, with higher workload and forces that will ever be experienced in the life of them. They also use hall sensors so there are no moving parts to wear out that aren't mounted by a bearing.

The pedals work in exactly the same way as fixed wing pedals would, they are just mounted and positioned for helicopter use. The only difference is, is that there is no cantering force. They will be fine for fixed use, I use them without issue when I venture to the dark side of flying. :D

Just to help keep the saliva flowing, we will also be creating a Huey collective!!

Little update for the B8 grip. These are early renders, there is still a lot of smoothing out to do as well as hollow out the grip and attach the adapter for the Multi-grip system.

Follow with attention the development of their products.

FFB I do not care because the limitations of the simulators, but a "Force Trim" electro-mechanical would be fantastic.

Looking good, if I was at all into helicopters, I would definitely buy these. And the interchangeable system is really a great idea for people who like to fly with realistic setups, but don't want to build anything themselves.

An F-15C, please, please, please, please, please, please, please.

Edit: I understand the ease of making the cyclic control interchangeable with rotary wings, but what about the collective/throttle? A throttle's design and function is quite a bit different from that of a collective (mainly because you "pick up" a collective, and "push forward" a throttle..

It will be first on the list for the fixed wing series!! As long as I can can either get drawings or pictures and dimensions anything is possible.

We would do a new set of controls for fixed wing as you're right the collective to throttle transfer wouldn't be easy to do and would probably compromise the quality of each. Also I'm guessing you would want some self cantering on the stick!?? Our cyclic control doesn't have a self cantering system.

Yes, self centering would be highly appreciated, and to be honest, the helicopter and fixed wing bases should be totally separate product lines as to enhance the realism of each. Ultimately though, I would be expecting TM Warthog level of quality out of any future stick I buy. Anything less, and well, to me it just wouldn't be good enough. I realize that you guys aren't a huge company, and likely can't afford to do much actual product testing with real world counterparts, however most everything should be doable.

Hi Guys,

Sorry missed this somehow. Cowboy10uk, I've sent you an email mate!!

The Multi-Grip 206 and 350 Cyclics are ready to order, along with the 206 Collective with the 350 collective ready very soon. Work then starts on the Huey and KA-50 Collecitves and Cyclics. These can be ordered anytime with probably a 4-6 week lead time form ordering on the Huey and KA-50 collectives. The KA-50 Cyclic will probably be a little longer as we design the trigger etc.. The wife and son are away all week so hoping to get a lot of design work done and completed.

Below is a printed AS350 Cyclic, needs a little finishing before spraying, wiring and sending off to the customer!! That will be you I believe Scudslaker!!
