crazyeddie Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I have just returned to the game after a LONG break. Installed World, great, installed P51D, great, installed A10C with the three patches, then ran the patch to make it work in World. Now when I run a flight of any kind and try to shut it down the window to do that is not highlighted and I have to crash back to my desktop and re-enter World to get the highlight to click on and shut down. Can't see any obvious reasons for this on the threads ? Any ideas guys ? PS: Like the whole World idea, that makes good sense. Bring on FC3.
Revelation Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 What version of DCS World did you install? What version of P51D did you install? What version of DCS A-10C did you install? What are these three patches you are speaking of? What is not highlighted? Explain "crash back to desktop further." What do you mean by highlight to click on and shut down? cichlidfan Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 What patches are you talking about? The current version of World and it's modules is 1.2.1 and auto-updates. There are no patches to install. Here for the World dl: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?ProductId=21&end_pos=137&scr=product&lang=en Here is A-10, with no patches involved: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=136&lang=en and here is P-51: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=18&end_pos=136&lang=en That is all there is for these products. ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! crazyeddie Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 DCS World, the latest, updated immediately by auto updater. 1.2.1.5970. A10C - Disc version 1.1.1.0 Patches 1.1.0.8 1.1.0.9 and A10C Patch 1.1.1.0 P51D - Downloaded from the site 1.2.1.5970 I'm guessing its something to do with the patches, am I right in thinking they are not needed and if I remove A10C and do a fresh instal with 1.2.1.5970 problem should be solved.
Britchot Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 A10C - Disc version 1.1.1.0 Patches 1.1.0.8 1.1.0.9 and A10C Patch 1.1.1.0 I'm guessing its something to do with the patches, am I right in thinking they are not needed and if I remove A10C and do a fresh instal with 1.2.1.5970 problem should be solved. Remove A10C and load the following version: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=136&lang=en Your CD key/activation for the disc version will be needed for the install. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] CPU - Intel 8088 @ 4.77 MHz; Memory - 128KB; 360KB double-sided 5 1/4" full-height floppy disk drive; 10MB Seagate ST-412 hard drive JG-1 MiG-21bis Checklist
Azrayen Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 OK, you can forget about the A-10C disc version and its patches. Now that DCS World is here, all you need is World + the A-10C module (as you did for the P-51 module, follow cichlidfan's links). You licence/activation for the A-10C "disk" (standalone) will work for the A-10C module embedded in DCS World (which is the up to date version). [edit] too slow... ;)
falcon_120 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Yes,you just need to instal A10c for world, and it will autoupdate to the last patch, forget 1.1.0.8 ,1.1.0.9 etc just the link cichlidfan gave you
crazyeddie Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks guys, screwed it up by not reading everything fully and cutting corners with old junk. I can fix this now, many thanks.
cichlidfan Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks guys, screwed it up by not reading everything fully and cutting corners with old junk. I can fix this now, many thanks. Good deal. crazyeddie Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) Darn I thought I had solved this, still getting the same problem even after a proper instal as per your inst above: I get to this screen to close down, click on quit and nothing happens, it hasnt turned blue and I cant click on it. I have to Ctl Alt Del back to my desktop, close Task Manager and open the game up again, at which point the quit button has turned blue and it works. Edited October 10, 2012 by crazyeddie
MagnumHB Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Be sure to run the manual DCS Update in the Start Menu (again, if necessary). The current version (as of yesterday, anyway) is build .6288, and this issue is fixed as far as I noticed.
joey45 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 In tick the aero thingy in options... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
