Spetz Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I think so, but I leave mine on just incase of a DCSW re-install, but with the new auto-update thing, I may rethink it..
BigfootMSR Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 As above, is this fine?? Cheers Yes, but if you need to reinstall the bs2 upgrade module for any reason, you would need to reinstall bs1 again. VincentLaw Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 They should make it so you can type in and activate the BS1 code when you install the BS2 upgrade module without having to install BS1. This would make re-installation much more convenient. There is no technical reason BS1 should need to be installed, and that would be sufficient to prove ownership of the BS1 license. digitaljjd Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 ...and that's why I just bought the full version instead. BS is the only sim I've ever bought 3 times. Russian version, English version, and now the BS2 full version all in the hope that it will support getting Nevada.
Rusty_M Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I have BS1 sitting on my HDD unplayed just in-case I need to reinstall World and BS2. Getting worried that I'm now down to 3 activations for BS1 though. The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine! http://www.twitch.tv/rusty_the_robot https://www.youtube.com/user/RustyRobotGaming
BigfootMSR Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Its fine rusty, you just have submit a ticket when you run out of activations. Its just easiest to leave BS1 installed on your computer if you have the room for it.. Then you don't need to ever hassle with it. PDXMike Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 After first installation of DCS BS2 Upgrade, I uninstalled BS1 and never installed it again, nor any update needed it. Strange, must be a regional thing. I had to re-install BS1, when I did the BS2 1.2.1 upgrade.
Brainless Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I just forgot to add: I have Russian BS1 DVD and using English BS2 Upgrade. Ryzen 5900X (Water), 64GB DDR4@3600CL16, RTX 3090 (Water), U4021QW, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, 2x1000GB RAID 1, 2000GB, Thrustmaster Warthog + MFG Crosswind, Reverb G2 V2
