PFunk Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Viper, thanks for the constant contact on the bug fixes. Really appreciate it. Any plans to tweak the simplified avionics a little better for us folks who fly with training wheels?

IvanK Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Still Missing from the bug list as previously reported. A10A AOA indexer not working. ILS on A10A not working.
Leonski Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 (edited) Bird hazard to 100%? LOL if that's the case then it's not a bug.. I'll try it out! @159th_Viper And what about the canopy frame thicknis?? FC3 F-15 canopy frame too thick? This is something that's very easy to correct in CG rendered graphics. Most software has lens distortion built-in, but it's also very easy to do in post-production (photoshop, after effects etc). I don't know all that much about realtime rendering, but am fairly certain it can be done these days. What I don't know is things like which direct x version might be required, or hardware, or how significant a performance hit it has. Just in case anyone's interested in a more thorough explanation, take a look at attached image. The nine cubes are arranged in the same plane. We know that this means that the ones at the edges are actually further from the camera than the one in the centre, and the ones in the corners slightly further away still. Two things to note about the realtime 3D view on the right: Firstly, the lack of perspective is obvious. Secondly, despite the difference in distance between the different cubes and the camera, all the front faces of the cubes are rendered exactly the same size. Because you see the same size front face, plus the sides/top/bottom etc., the cubes not in the centre appear bigger. On the left, the rendered image has a lens distortion applied which adds perspective to the ones in the corners, making it much more like what you'd see through a real camera. It should also be noticeable that all the cubes appear to be a much more similar size. Edited December 16, 2012 by Leonski McDonnell Douglas ✮ F-15C Eagle ✮ // USAF 2012 // Raytheon Trophy HD
PFunk Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 How? Need specifics :) For the F-15, when you lock up a target, the green box around the target doesn't stay centered on it, doesn't seem to happen much on the Russian birds, but it sure does on the Eagle. Missiles completely fail to guide. Also, for ALL birds, when in A2A 'mode', if I switch to another mode (like A2G or NAV) when I return to A2A, I can no longer target anything. At all. In some cases, I've been in A2A mode, not touched anything, and couldn't switch between more than two targets before the auto-lock-on-to-next-target key stopped working altogether.
PFunk Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Let me be even more specific. The easy avionics mode activated by pressing '2' (the sort of TWS/RWS mode) allows me to target maybe one aircraft. Maybe. Switching to new targets doesn't work after locking up the first aircraft. On the other hand, modes '4' and '6' work just fine. Maybe I'm not using mode '2' correctly? Anything I should be doing differently?

Balu Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 There seems to be a problem with the F-15C fuel consumption. If you are flying at 1000 ft with a 90% power setting the fuel flow per engine is displaying 82 lbs/min and the digital display is showing 82000. If you watch the internal fuel display for some minutes with constant 90% power setting and flying at 1000 ft you notice that the fuel consumption is total 200 lbs/min (per engine 100 lbs/min).
IvanK Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Fine in latest build. Goodo ... and the Indexer ? :)

Kuky Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 (edited) There seems to be a problem with the F-15C fuel consumption. Yes, Fuel consumption is wrong but not as you suggested. Right now at MILL power fuel consumption shows around 90,000 lps/hour (note dial is not lbs/min as you though), so converting to minutes is turns out to be around 1500 lbs/min and when I fly for 1min at this power setting I get around 300 lbs less (150 lbs per engine). So I think the actual fuel consumption is correct but dial is not... looks like it could have an extra zero in it. It gets worse in idle and AFT... in IDLE it shows around 57,500 lbs/hour which is way too much, and in AFT it shows around 92,000 lbs/hour which is way too little (in AFT one engine uses bit more than 700 lbs of fuel at SEA level) EDIT: I've reported this in ED bug tracker for them to check and fix Edited December 17, 2012 by Kuky PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
agentkgb Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 SU-25T Gunpod FPS issue - tracks not replaying back correctly at all. Will submit for further internal testing in an attempt to replicate. For now, not on list. Will check this today in an MP session and save track if exists. - KGB - [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
agentkgb Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 In the 7570 release the problem still exist. After the strafing run my buddy ceases fire after pulling back on the stick, from all other MP client point of view the fireing continues from the gunpods, and creates huge FPS hit. Track attached, checked twice :) One more thing, some bombs (FAB500 M62, KMGU2's) have very small damage radius. This issue was reported by my buddies, personally I don't like bombs. You should almost clearly hit your target with a 500kg bomb, otherwise, if it detonates 3-5m far, nothing is hurt. We can make a track, if it was not reported. - KGB -Su-25T_gunpod_7570.trk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

ralch Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 How? Need specifics :) One suggestion:In FC3, when Game-Avionics is on, and you fly with the cockpit off, there are two radars but they take too much space. There should be a key to turn them off in cycles.
ralch Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 List updated: ..... ..... 147 - SU-33 sticks to the runway in cross-wind conditions 148 - Game Mode F-15 unable to track/lock targets in BVR mode 149 - A10-A AOA Indexer not functional Any questions/clarifications just shout. In the latest patch/update to FC3 beta, DCS has gracefully ported old FC2 campaigns into FC3. I have been playing extensively the "Over the Hump" Mig-29S campaign and have found two bugs: 1- When you try to change the weapon-load before starting a mission, pressing the Mission-Planner, then Mission-Editor cannot start correctly and it partially shows the right toolbox but then it freezes and you cannot continue playing the game. 2- The mission "SEAD Escort" always fails because the SEAD SU-25 cannot correctly engange the two main targets.
PE_Tigar Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 2- The mission "SEAD Escort" always fails because the SEAD SU-25 cannot correctly engange the two main targets. I have managed to pass it once (somehow) and the campaign crashed (GUI crashed after the mission). I don't have a clue what I did :).

ralch Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Hi Dio, I am interested in upgrading my PC to a similar setup as yours. 2700k + GTX680. Can you mantain 60fps before takeoff without stuterings or drops (all graph-settings maxed)?
Pelmo Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 It depends on what resolution you want to play. I play with 1920 x 1080 with 45-50 fps. However, this resolution, with everything set to max, is not possible to mantain 60 fps at groung.
