Sierra99 Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 Sim Pit Building Threads And do what? I looked thru that thread and several others BEFORE posting here and didn't find an answer. If you can point me at a particular thread that gives the exact measurement I need great. Otherwise... I'm not looking for a random number or what someone was using... I was asking if someone knew the exact number... AtaliaA1 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) Otherwise what. Was I to assume you had looked in the sim pit section? You made no mention of it, so I steered you to the place that such info could be attained. As I have read throught the sim pit area it seems no one builds to exacting specs due to the meriad perameters involved with the unknown. Be careful here, you see we are a good group of people willing to help. So if you ask a Q. don't be surprised if some one trys to help you out with it. Hamblue Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 You might find something at the simhq forums too. Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. badger66 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 To be honest , I think the measurement your looking for depends on your physical setup , as the real seat is adjustable too. You may find the actual measurement mightnt suit , or indeed feel comfy .

You made no mention of it, so I steered you to the place that such info could be attained. Otherwise you should keep your pie hole closed. There was no need to assume anything. You didn't need to assume I read that thread anymore than you needed to assume I might find the answer there. Since you choose to assume it was in the pit building thread, I wasted time looking for something that wasn't there. More than a little frustrating. If you knew where the answer was and wanted to be helpful you should have taken a second and pointed me to the right place. Fact is you had no clue what or where the answer was but you wanted to seeeeem helpful. Thanks. No Really thanks....Let me explain how it's actually done by real military instructors. First off...If ya don't know the answer it's simple. Ya keep your pie hole shut until you can find it. If ya bullshit a person or send them on a wild goose chase it pisses them off and absolutely destroys your creditability. If ya don't know, but think you might know where to look, you admit it from the start and then provide what you can. This allows the person to decide for themselves weather to follow your lead or not....keeps people from wasting their time rereading a thread checking to see if they missed something. More than a little frustrating. If you're asked a question and KNOW the answer, you provide the answer AND you provide the reference for the answer. This answers the persons question and allows them to further research the question at hand. Most importantly it builds your credibility as an instructor and a peer. I've noticed lots of people on this forum like to use the pat answers "Read the FAQs" "Look in the manual" or "This has already been covered" when people ask for help. Those are asinine responses to requests for help by people who were just like you were when you started... Keep that in mind... 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Primary Computer ASUS Z390-P, i7-9700K CPU @ 5.0Ghz, 32GB Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 @ 3200Mhz, ZOTAC GeForce 1070 Ti AMP Extreme, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe drives (1Tb & 500 Gb), Windows 10 Professional, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Thrustmaster Warthog Stick, Thrustmaster Cougar Throttle, Cougar MFDs x3, Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals and TrackIR 5. -={TAC}=-DCS Server Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3, i7-3770K CPU @ 3.90GHz, 32GB G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 @ 1600Mhz, ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 970.
Mike Powell Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 I have a series of pictures of the stick assembly posted by Deadman. One shows the overall length from the bottom of the linkage to the top of the grip next to a tape measure. It appears to be just shy of 27.5 inches. The linkage extends somewhat below the floor, so this number isn't as useful as it seems. However, you could derive a fair estimate of what you need by scaling the pictures. Unfortunately, I don't recall where I found the pictures. I've labelled them as coming from Deadman, so it's likely they came from his cockpit building thread on this forum. Deadman Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 yes mike there are some pics on my thread but I think I will keep my pie hole shut on this one https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Relax "Major Pain" this isn't the Military..............LOL No one in the real world cares about how it's done in the military by the way. You just come off like a .....well it rymes with your "Pie Hole" comment. Don't they have some kind of "Exit Training" for you guys. That "Staunch" aproach to a demecratic society is realy interesting no it's disturbing realy, Politeness and Cordiality is thrown out in order to model lifes intricacy by a book. Hhhmmmmm.
