The Ultimate DCS World JSGME Guide - If you use mods, you need this.

I have 2 files in my _MOD folder:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\_MODS\BF-109K4 HD English Cockpit [METRIC] 1.5 & 2.0\Mods\aircraft\Bf-109K-4\Cockpit\Textures\Cockpit_Bf-109K-4_Textures

and

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_MODS\_MODS\Fw-190D Enhanced English Cockpit 1.5 & 2.0 [METRIC]\Mods\aircraft\FW-190D9\Cockpit\Textures\FW-190D9-CPT-TEXTURES

I have put both into JSGME successfully, but can only activate one or the other. But not both.

What am I doing wrong?

Once I have a mod activated, how do I use it? Where do I say which skin I want to use today, once I am in DCS and ready to fly? Can I only use them online, or missions, or instant action?

Also, why can't I add a new sub folder into _MODS? ie, one for each plane.

Thanks,

badfinger

Why have you ....\_MODS\_MODS\....... ?

I don't know. That's just the way it came out. If I were to erase one of them (the second one?), would that solve my problem?

Hi, I need some help with this mod.

I made a new folder in my JSGME _MODS folder and named it North Carolina, added the mod and sounds folders from this mod

Link for download American Battleship North Carolina.

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1863302/

closed JSGME, tried it but the game wouldnt run, so I removed it.

So I guess I need to add the file structure manually.

My problem is I dont understand how to do it, ive read and reread the instructions on page1, but I cant figure out how to do that to this mod.

(probable just my ignorance, Im new at this, and dont have much experiance move folders and files around)

Will someone Please straighten me out on this?

(before I pull the rest of my hair out):)

Hi Dallas

I've had a quick look at this mod. I too cannot start DCS World when this mod is enabled in JSGME. Nothing really stands out as to what the problem is. The file structure looks ok to me.

I'd suggest popping over to the forum ED Forums » English » Sim Topics » Mods and Apps » How To » Battleships Bismark, which can be found here:

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160234

Ask here and see what they say. The maker of the mod discusses his mods here. Many mods fail when DCS World gets updated, maybe thats the problem.

I don't think you have a problem with JSGME as I have the same problem of DCS World not starting with this mod activated and I have many mods activated using JSGME

I accidently assigned the normal MOD map to JSGME. I want to change it to the _MOD map. But I cant figure how.

I already removed JSGME and restarted the pc. But it never asked me to assign the MOD map.

Does any know how I can reassign this map?

Hi Ninjaviper, Im not sure if I understand your question,

do you mean the stock Mods folder? (the one with aircraft, campaigns,

tech, terrains in it?

If so just rename it back to Mods again and re-install JSGME.

Dallas thanks for your reaction!

I ment the stock Mods folder. I figured it out I had to change the path in the ini. file.

The problem was I directed JSGME to the stock folder and I couldn't change is to the _MOD (JSGME folder). But I found out I had to change it with the ini.file.

Hello Dallas

About North Carolina, you have to install first : Bismark.

And, after and only after, you install NC ( North Carolina ).

If JSGME say:

"USS_NorthCarolina.lua" has already been altered by the "Bismarck" mod.

"AutoGunSounds.lua" has already been altered by the "Bismarck" mod.

"CannonSounds.lua" has already been altered by the "Bismarck" mod

You do :"yes" and you can, normaly, open DCS.

Bye.

OK...

I have JSGME installed and some mods work as advertised...and some don't. Specifically, the 476 Range Objects and Rangers Airbase clutter work fine. Unpacked them to _Mods folder and they work.

Others such as Aircraft skins don't. Where do I start looking for what I am doing wrong?

About aircraft skin, you dont need JSGME.

You have to put your skin directly in DCS/Bazar/Liveries/the aircraft

Posted

Better place for skins is your Saved games area: C:\Users\NAME\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\(aircraft type)

You may have to create the folders, but it works great there for all aircraft. Gets it out of the main install, and easy to see which custom skins are versus the default ones.

JSGME is a GREAT tool, though best used when modifying game files instead of just adding to them like skins do.
