Flyable Helicopters Mod, DCSW 1.2.2

Here are my mods that let you control helicopters in DCSW 1.2.x with KA-50 Cockpit

there are a few mods out there but mine are a little more polished with

- correctly working cannons

- custom sounds, textures

- corrected cockpit position etc

 

To make Ekran/Betty/Rita sounds go to DCS WorldSoundsSpeechSoundENG, copy Ka-50 folder and rename it to Apache (Hind, Cobra - as module appears in ME)

 

Black Shark 2 module for DCS World needs to be installed and activated for these modules to work

 

I will update mods to 1.2.4 as i have time, meanwhile you can use attached readme_1.2.4.txt for instructions on how to make all these mods work in DCS World 1.2.4

Nice mod, i also want to thank all the guys from How to section, Pat01, HungaroJet, but please don't spam this thread with dead download links, also UH1 is on the way by Belsimtek and this thread is more about attack choppers, if you have questions about the mod pls ask

I forgot to mention that this mod adds new helicopter, you need to choose Apache in ME and not AH-64D

I´ve installed it as the readme told me.

The Apache icon appears in the menu, but I can´t fly the AH-64D.

No Apache under USA in the mission editor, only AH-64A and AH-64D.

Surely I have DCS World and BS2 1.2.2.

I have BS2 activated in DCS World. Both version 1.2.2 (the latest).

Nevertheless no Apache entry in mission editor anywhere. Only AH-64A and AH-64D.

Look at the content of the entry.lua in the Apache_D folder. It looks messed up in comparison to the entry.lua in the KA-50 folder or the Su-25t folder.

I suggest you copy over your original KA-50 folders - bin, Cockpit, Input(keep my name.lua though), FM, comm.lua and paste inside Mod folder, start from here and let me know if it works, don't forget to set Input profile in Options

Look at the content of the entry.lua in the Apache_D folder. It looks messed up in comparison to the entry.lua in the KA-50 folder or the Su-25t folder.

Still not working.

Under main menü options controls the Apache appears. All keys assigned.

But in the mission editor, helicopter group, USA, Type, there´s no Apache selectable. Only AH-64A and AH-64D and KA-50 als flyable chopper of course.

 

The Apache_D folder is in DCS World/Mods/aircrafts where also are the folders Flaming Cliffs, A-10C, KA-50 and Su-25T. Correct?

I copied the KA-50/bin content (4 files) into the empty Apache_D/bin folder. Correct? Of course I´ve activated BS2.

Sorry, don´t know what I do wrong.

I think first we have to make the mod work. I´m obviously not the only one the Apache is not working for.

I suppose there´s something wrong with the entry.lua. The entry.lua is responsible for the entries in the mission editor.

Today I tested the updated version of the helicopter Apache! Everything is working fine! + Thanks for the ALF7 for correcting (file) shooting cannon.

Ok guys, sorry if initial mod didn't work for you, i had some issues with D model myself, made A version first than tweaked it to make D version and in the beginning it didn't work too, but somehow i managed it to work on my end

 

I reworked mod a little, lets start with ah-64a and see if it works,

to ensure error free installation i had to remake mod structure and make install a little more complicated but its worth it, it much smaller in size also

For those who wants D try following

1. copy over ah-64d edms (Bazar\world\shapes) to Shape folder

2. in ApacheA.lua change AH-64A to AH-64D:

db_units_helicopters is only for AI

with ka-50 cockpit and AFM you can't drop chaff

flickering landing gear is a collision model issue - because differ from Ka-50 coll. model

 

so you can change only the gun sound

others need very harcore modding
