i3 is not the strongest CPU but the real problem is that you seem to be using the graphics integrated with the CPU.

You need a reasonably powerful dedicated graphics card to run this sim.

what he said... you need dedicated graphics card, and not a basic (read cheap lower end) one either :music_whistling:

Yeah cancel that thing if you still can, tell us your budget and we'll help you put together something good.

Sorry to highjack this thread, but I just posted a thread in the hardware section of this forum, asking for advice on a new computer. (unfortunaetely I do not know how to link to another thread. If I knew I would, but it should be easy to find, the title of the thread is "please help me choose my next computer"). I sure would be thankful if you could give me some advice...:music_whistling:

This is about slightly above medium performance system... most certainly not "EXTREME" the way it's advertised (not for DCS anyway)

I'm not familiar with AMD CPU's but the video card is about medium level and HDD is fine for storage but these days you'd want SSD for OS/programs/games. Still You can certainly run DCS with HD8750 but not with all high settings so maybe I am little too harsh about the specs (I keep forgetting not everyone has the budget for hot range hardware) so best hear few more opinions

Also when you buy individual components you know exactly what's in it (which motherboard model which for example they don't mention) and it turns out cheaper.

Find some online PC store and look to see how much these components cost individually then you will have idea how much they would cost if you were to build it yourself instead of buying from some brand name like Dell/HP etc

Dump the 8120 for a Faster 4 Core, the 8120 is abysmal for what it is, I had one, and it was good for my purposes, but for gaming and games that only do max 2 or 3 threads, the i5 stomps it easily while using 1/3 less power.

I'd go witht eh 7870 2GBGhz Edit. or 7950 3gb,

7850 is kinda leaning to the weak side.

If the company is advertising that as extreme, they need to be smacked.

My i3 550 handles DCS no problem, like everyone says its the dedicated graphics card that is the problem :)

HD2000/3000 will only be able to render half of the scene, you'll get aircraft that look to have backface culling and missing terrain.

What motherboard does it have? lol

if u buy HP,Dell, or etc.. U will be under what i call the "THE LOCK DOWN"

the bios is usually locked, that means pc errors, problems, unable to boot, etc. can only be fixed by a HP,Dell, emachines tech. <---DO-DO,POOP

goto newegg.com or tigerdirect.com and pick a motherboard, cpu and ram then reply
