hypocrisie Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Hi, I must say I'm still a bit puzzled about product naming and framework of DCS. "DCS", "Lock On", "DCS World"... I bought "DCS: A-10C Warthog 1.1.1.1 (German download version)" from the DCS shop. Currently downloading. Now I realized the english version is 1.2.2 - can I download that one as well? Or am I stuck to the lower version number now? TIA Michael
MTFDarkEagle Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Hi! Welcome! Sure, you can download 1.2.2 :) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread

It's the serial you paid for and that serial will activate any A-10C product, be it the standalone version or the module to DCS World. That said, the 1.1.1.1 version you purchased is the standalone version whereas the 1.2.2 version you refer to is the module to DCS World, which you need to have installed prior to installing the A-10C module. badger66 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Just dont bother with the disc , download world and the A-10C module and activate it with your product key/serial .
Cyb0rg Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Too many versions. Messy for newcomers. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asteroids ____________________________________________ Update this :D
hypocrisie Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 Just dont bother with the disc , download world and the A-10C module and activate it with your product key/serial . That's what I'm doing now, thanks people. I'll learn the naming conventions and ideas behind it. Much more difficult: Learning to fly the beast :) I'm curious how different it feels from X-Plane 10.
badger66 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Latest version will read on the bottom right corner of your game menu screen 1.2.2.7570 .
Lange_666 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 One more thing: 1.1.1.1 is a stand alone version The lastest "module" 1.2.2 (currently 1.2.2.7570) is a plug in into DCS World (free to download). Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
Konrad Friedrich Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I'm curious how different it feels from X-Plane 10. Well... I'd say: Very different... ;) Btw: I agree... the thing with the versions and modules is a little bit confusing for beginners...
